Rollerdome — Attraction in Highland Springs

Just got back into skating after over 20 years and got my family ( kids, cousins, niece and nephew) involved and have gotten 3 pairs of skates and numerous add ons within a month and a half. My overall review, We have been to other rinks but Rollerdome is much closer ( 6 minutes) to our house. We will be going to other locations im afraid as the family doesnt like the atmosphere. The food every time we order there are issues with, pizza not finished properly, churros still raw, pretzels not cooked properly, nachos are hard to mess up they are usually ok. The Music is just play lists, nothing modern per se, no session activities like other rinks ( hokey Pokey, Adult Skate for 5 minutes, limbo, reverse skate) like it used to be. Previous owners years ago always had fresh activities, a DJ to actually play requests, and modern music in different forms. The floor itself needs work, the carpets are horrible, The lighting needs serious attention as its pretty dark inside. They have a nice arcade selection that is never on for kids to play with everytime we have gone. I have reached out a few times to try to host a holiday party and business party and haven't heard back after 3 weeks. I have emailed some suggestions and offered to help with things as i would like to see it come back to its former glory but no response as if they dont care to even reply to feedback. It could be a great attraction for the east end if someone actually promoted and offered fun family time. Its a shame but we will be traveling to other locations that are in better shape and more family fun oriented. If you are looking for family fun i recommend Chester or Ashland Skateland anyday over Rollerdome. We will go only if time constraints make us but otherwise we will drive the 30...

For my first visit it was interesting. You have to give them one shoe which I found funny. Lol, You can tell this place need alot of renovation from the outside in. They do check everyone temperature and try their best to organize the lines with cash or credit. I didnt have to much interaction with thw employees but the moments I did, I found them to be polite and helpful. At one point my son when to the restroom and me being the Mamabear that I am I gave him 2 mins after that I went look and couldn't find him. I went to the DJ booth and he was very helpful in assisting me. My baby was found safe skating like everyone else. This place is not for the faint of heart if you are use to certain surroundings BUT for the community that it's in, it is definitely a staple to them. I watch the kids, young and old. Walk in dress to impress 😊 and skate their hearts out. It gets a little crowded and once you're on the floor, you dont have to wear a mask but you can if you want. The one thing I would suggest is to have diet options for people with people with health challenges. My son only option was water. No diet drink of any kind and I like him to feel like everyone else and you cant being outside food or drinks so its something they need fix. Well iam from out of town. I stoped in about 7:10 on a Wednesday night and was going to ask if there scheduled was still winter and was curious on what type of skates ya had to choose from. When i walked through the first door and up to the counter i seen a lady make eye contact with me and immediately bolted toward the back so fast that stuff hanging on the wall moved. So I waited for about 5 min or so and no body every came back. I than walked out and got back in my car and called. A lady picked and I proceeded to ask the above questions. She answered my first question but didnt now the second one. But she was so rude. Didnt even bother on trying to go after that experience. Well I called shane and talked to him and said to come back when i was in town again. I did so. Was an alsome experience he let me in no charge. I offered to pay but he denied it. I just wanted him to be aware of how i got treated the firt time. It was a different lady at the desk and she was so nice and helpful on a purchase i made at the shop there.
