I came here last minute, and I appreciated how kind and accommodating the staff were in fitting us in for a couple’s massage. The space itself is beautiful, and we were greeted warmly upon arrival. They do require full payment upfront, which can catchpeople off—but I understand each place has its own policy.
We were reassured we’d receive a couple’s room, and initially, the connecting door was opened, only to be closed again without explanation. I’m still unsure why that changed, and it was disappointing.
Unfortunately, several things affected our overall experience. For starters, the therapists entered the room without introducing themselves or giving any direction. This was my partner’s first massage, and he felt a bit lost—so I had to guide him on how to get situated. We were each provided with a very small towel, which didn’t offer much coverage, especially for a mid-size person like myself. It made it hard to feel comfortable or relaxed.
The face cradle had fabric blocking the breathing hole, making it difficult to breathe properly while lying face down. The lights remained on during the session, which didn’t help set a relaxing mood.
I asked for a Swedish massage, but the pressure felt more like being pounded on rather than massaged. Despite clearly asking to avoid my shoulders and focus more on my lower back, the masseuse spent nearly 20 minutes on my shoulders and barely touched my lower back. I politely repeated my concerns during the session, but they continued doing what they had been doing. By then, I was emotionally drained and just wanted it to be over.
At one point, I was being shaken on the massage table, which made me feel lightheaded and nauseous. There was no clear communication or flow to the massage—hot stones were suddenly placed on my back, and a wet towel was shaken over me, startling me. On top of that, the therapist chatted with a coworker during the massage, which completely disrupted any sense of peace.
I’d also like to point out that during my visit for a massage, they assigned therapists at random without asking clients if they had a preference for a male or female masseuse. I witnessed a situation where a female client was surprised when a male therapist entered her room—she quickly spoke up, saying she actually preferred a female masseuse, and the male therapist had to awkwardly leave.
In the end, I did not enjoy the experience. I still left a tip out of courtesy, but I wouldn’t return or recommend this place. I truly hope they take this feedback constructively, as the potential is there with a beautiful space and kind...
Read moreIt was attitude attitude attitude as soon as I walk in the front door. I don’t know if the big heavy weight asian woman who doesn’t wear the glasses was having a bad day, but she was very unwelcoming. I booked a 60min foot massage & 60min body for $130 which they charged me $135 for & I specifically wrote on the notes to target the parts that I was seeking because I was aching. Everything was ignored & the much slimmer lady who gave me the MOST mediocre body massage with the glasses had the audacity to still ask for tip “knowingly” that I was received poor treatment from her staff member. They made me pay at the door and didn’t get the full advantage of the hour massages because they are short staff so they leave the sessions randomly. They were obnoxiously loud during the sessions & couldn’t get any peace of quiet! They did sooooo much foot traffic during my 2 hour session it was unbelievable. I went on their slowest weekday thinking it was a good idea, but it wasn’t. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend even a fool to come to this establishment. I was very poorly treated & man-handled during my service. Regardless if they reply to my review or not, I don’t think much will change at this establishment. They’re too many great massage places from other Asians to be poorly & mistreated with their under staff disgusting attitude of employees to be treated by them. Go at...
Read moreI've been going to Saku for a couple of months weekly now. I wanted to find a place to help me recover from 14 months of cancer therapy. I found it here at Saku.
I'm no lightweight when it comes to the intensity of the massage and really want to heal and get blood flow through my feet and for my joints and muscles to move freely again. All the therapists are great but I have most of my massages with Tony. He has very strong hands and knows the pressure points that bring feeling back to my feet.
It hurts while it's getting done but I can feel life coming back to my feet and appreciate their help with my healing so very much. I hope to go weekly for this year and then leave another review so that people can know what a year of massage weekly can do for their...
