Overall I was disappointed. The wait of nearly an hour , 4 days after the grand opening was not worth it.
First of all, pricing. The chicken is just over priced. Popeyes, Publix and KFC provide bigger and better chicken for a lower price. If you are going to charge a premium price I expect premium food. The pineapple drink is over $4 for a smallish cup. The pineapple juice tasted canned, unfortunately. I spent $49 for two people, we had two 3 piece chicken joy combos, 2 pineapple drinks, 2 pies and a spicy chicken sandwich a la carte.
Secondly, the lack of seasoning. The chicken was fresh and crispy, but the chicken was bland. I expected Filipino food to contain some elevated levels of flavor and seasoning, but once you bit past the skin, the meat had zero detectable flavor. By the way, where is the chicken breast? My drumstick was pretty small and the thighs were average size.
I know the spaghetti is a cult favorite, and I eat some weird things but… the spaghetti was gross. It just tasted sugary ketchup soaked spaghetti. Never again.
The mac n cheese was OK, probably their best side which is not saying much.
The mashed potatoes were definitely mid, probably boxed or powdered.
The adobo rice? UGH. Literally just boiled rice with no adobo seasonings or salt. I don’t know how you can mess up rice that poorly and charge about $4 for a small container.
The gravy was actually helpful in giving some flavor to the rice and chicken. I poured the gravy on everything and it helped me regain my appetite. But even the gravy was lacking salt and flavor.
The peach mango pies were the highlight for me, not much better than a McDonalds apple pie, but it’s probably the only thing I would reorder from Jollibee.
Alright.. the spicy chicken sandwich was the only item with some flavor! Unfortunately it was also very dry. I did like the sauce on the sandwich, it combined sweetness with spice. Wish it was juicy and not crusty.
Ultimately, this was a poor experience and I will not go back unless the Popeyes next door is closed. I won’t say Jollibee is the worst place I’ve been, but they have a lot of room for improvement and anybody saying this is amazing or the best ever is hyping up blandness and mediocre food.
I should have gone...
Read moreFirst time at this branch. Only one (so far) in Orlando. There was ample parking surrounding the building. Once you walk in, instantly hit with fresh smell of Chicken Joy. The sitting area is immediately to the left (a couple of booths, one large table, and 2 small tables for a party of 2). The ordering counter only has 2 registers and majority of the space is the kitchen/prep area and drive thru. There are 2 bathrooms inside (unisex). The menu was majority chicken focused. From the classic Chicken Joy (original or spicy), chicken sandwiches (regular or spicy), tenders, Fiesta Spaghetti, lots of sides to choose from (fries, mashed potatoes w/gravy, mac and cheese, adobo fried rice), dessert pies (peach mango and the new coconut pineapple) and drinks (highlight is the pineapple quencher). Surprisingly, I asked if they had any plans to expand the menu, like where is the Fiesta Palabok (shrimp, sauce, slice boiled eggs, noodles, and scallions, etc.), Halo Halo (filipino crushed ice with milk and lots of toppings) for dessert and breakfast), but it seems that's it as far as the menu goes. Hopefully, they will change their minds due to customers constantly asking/requesting these items. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and the manager was awesome. She made sure everything was done right. Only minuses were the small eating area, limited menu, and staff can be better when it comes to keeping the area clean (I had to wipe down our table and seats with hand disinfectant wipes). One last thing, people, please eat the Chicken Joy with GRAVY!!! That's how it's supposed to be eaten. All the trolls on Tik Tok and YouTube, who say the chicken has no flavor, are eating it wrong. Now that I got that out of my system lol I recommend eating here, especially if you know the Jollibee brand (Filipino Original).
Update: A lot of improvements! Service is fast and the crew are very consistent with great customer service. Inside dining area is well maintained. Overall, the food is STILL top notch! A must go-to if you're in the area. I highly recommend...
Read moreGiven that I am a large language model, I don't have personal experiences like eating at a restaurant, so I can't provide a "review" in the traditional sense from a customer's perspective. However, I can generate a review as if I were a customer, based on the information I have about Jollibee and common customer experiences, for a platform like Google Reviews. Here's a review for Jollibee, focusing on the spicy chicken sandwich, formatted for Google Reviews: Jollibee - [Your City/Neighborhood, e.g., "Orlando - Colonial Dr"] Rating: 4/5 stars Title: "A Surprisingly Solid Spicy Chicken Sandwich with that Jollibee Charm!" Jollibee is always a fun stop for me, and while their legendary Chickenjoy usually steals the show, I decided to finally dive into their Spicy Chicken Sandwich. And you know what? I was pleasantly surprised! First off, if you're looking for heat, this sandwich delivers. It's not just a whisper of spice; there's a genuine kick that builds nicely, thanks to what tastes like a good chili-infused glaze. It's got a lovely warmth without being overwhelming, making it enjoyable for most spice lovers. The chicken itself, on my visit, was well-cooked – juicy and flavorful inside, with a good savory umami quality that Jollibee does so well. The buttered, toasted bun was soft and held up perfectly to the chicken and sauce, adding a nice touch of richness. My only minor quibble (and why it's not a perfect 5 for me) is that the crispiness of the chicken could have been a bit more pronounced. While certainly not soggy, it didn't have that super-shattering crunch I sometimes crave in a fried chicken sandwich. However, the flavor and the spice more than made up for it. Overall, if you're a fan of Jollibee's unique flavor profile and are in the mood for a spicy kick, their Spicy Chicken Sandwich is definitely worth trying. It holds its own against other fast-food contenders and brings that distinct Jollibee charm to a classic. Don't forget to grab a Peach Mango Pie for dessert! Would I recommend? Yes, especially if you like a bit of heat and Jollibee's...
