Southern Park Mall — Attraction in Boardman

Well I’ll just give a brief description to what happened to myself my daughter and my two grandchildren we went into the family restroom by the food court and we noticed there was coat on the chair and in the mothers nursing room there was two black males sitting in there now it’s a nursing room from moms adult black males… So I proceeded take my grandson into the one restaurant for him to go and my daughter proceeded to change the baby we are probably in there for 10 minutes the two black males in the mother‘s nursery room did get up and leave but the other bathroom door was shut which we thought was odd no noises no nothing I didn’t have an out of service sign on it so as we are getting the kids diaper back on opens up the other restroom never mind you this is a family bathroom for people that have little kids brothers I have babies not for adults there’s two other bathrooms low and behold here comes a 6 foot three blackmail and probably a 6 foot female black walking out of the restroom higher than a kite stumbling over everything and it was their codes that was on the chair we were so afraid we just like froze they looked at us she laughed fell into the chair getting her coat and I won’t tell you what my daughter said they are probably doing one was drugs she mentioned and then you could use your imagination for what else might be going on in there so we get out of the bathroom safe then I proceed to call Southern Park Mall Security I have them on my phone because at one time I worked at the mall this is what Mall Security told me we can’t do anything about that that’s a family restroom I said I understand that but first you have to black male sitting in the mothers nursing room only two chairs in there for moms to breast-feed and then a black male and a black female come walking out of the other restroom higher than kite stumbling and falling well we have to be careful we can’t say anything to them oh OK so now we’re not safe to go into the bathroom amongst the other things that go on at the southern Parkmall someone had overdosed in that bathroom I guess three or four weeks ago before this incident so people think that mall is safe it’s not I worked there for five years and I know what goes on out there specially Fridays and Saturday nights kids aren’t afraid of the Mall Security many times you had to call the Boardman police to come out they coming to the stores and hang out go upstairs and hide so if you think you’re safe you’re looking for trouble don’t ever think you’re safe in that mall or walking out of that mall alone I should have called the Boardman Police Department when that incident happened to us but I was just so dumbfounded that the Mall Security people said nothing we can do about it it’s a family restroom need it to say I very really go to the southern Parkmall anymore I don’t feel Safe there so I go out to the other mall in Niles or you when I drive to Robinson and I’m not saying that in things that go on there but nothing like the southern Parkmall .. The gangs of kids that hang out in the southern Parkmall don’t give two hoots about anybody there rude or mean or ignorant and the parents when we called the parents on some of them they back their children up so they say apples don’t fall far from the tree so be safe when you’re out there keep your eyes open hang onto your purse and know that there’s a lot more that goes on at the mall that nobody reports to the public… And I did post this on my Facebook page to...

It's been one week since I emailed the following, with no reply back so I'll share it publicly...

I just left the mall & I usually do not reach out to places but I'm incredibly disappointed & disgusted in your family restrooms located in your food court area. My husband & I have a 6 month old. We went to go change her and all 3 "family restrooms" said occupied. We stood there for 10 minutes and finally a gross looking man & woman came out. I looked at my husband and said they probably just got done having relations & he tried to assure me they were just using the restrooms. Well we walk in there & there isn't a toilet. My husband says they were probably doing drugs. Nice. So then we put down the baby table and it's bending off the wall so we have to prop it up using our legs. There is no where to set anything down, like our diaper bag. And no where to WASH HANDS?? So here I am, changing a poop diaper & I have to touch the door to get out. I walk into the women's room afterwards and the air dryer is broke. I come out, switch with my husband so he can go wash his hands. He comes out and says there were no paper towels. So we switch again so I can go get him paper towels. Meanwhile still the other two "family restrooms" are still occupied. A women walks back with her son, walks into the "restroom" we came out of only to be disappointed there wasn't a toilet. She has to leave her 8 year old son outside the restrooms so she can use the restroom.

I can not believe, with how beautiful the mall and outdoor area is that you would take pride in this filthy room that is utilized mostly by drug users or couples having sex rather than clean family's. I suggest putting up cameras & a sign saying that the area is being closely monitored & that the family restrooms are only to be used by people with small children. Also, there is no excuse for unsafe baby changing tables. People need a place to set their things... like shopping bags, purses, diaper bags. They also need a sink to wash their hands. Doors should be labeled saying which room has a toilet & which are for changing babies. Janitors need to be checking & cleaning restrooms more often. (I forgot to mention the trashcan in the women's room was overflowing to the floor). Security should be making rounds down that hallway to assure no one takes advantage & and has sexual relations or uses drugs in a "family" area.

I thought I would bring these things to your attention (whoever this reaches) in case you were completely unaware.

Update : someone reached out to me via email after this public post. They said they painted the restrooms. No mention of fixing the changing tables or monitoring the family rooms for shady people using it for shady purposes. If I have to come to this mall I will remember to not stay long & to skip the restrooms. I'll also pass along this information to family & friends. Thanks for the fresh paint on the...

My husband and I ate there Sunday night and we will not be going back. Our waiter Dan was horrible. He didn't know anything about the menu. His attitude was horrible. We would ask for something and he would completely disappear and never come back with what we asked for. Finally after a long while of waiting for him to get our bill we went to the counter signed it (knowing what the exact total was bc we didn't leave a tip) and left. Monday afternoon my husband checks his bank account and sees that the charge from Double Bogey's is 11 dollars MORE than what I signed for. My husband goes to the restaurant and was informed that Dan had charged my husband's card an 11 dollar tip. And had also been informed him that Dan had been caught doing this before and said that he would be terminated the minutes he gets into work today. My question is is if Dan had been caught doing this before why wasn't he terminated then? I will not eat at a restaurant who will not take accountability for their staff.

I wish we weren't forced...
