The Mall at Wellington Green — Attraction in Loxahatchee Groves

Grossly mishandled by the Mall security and one custodial team member.

We set the day of 03/12/24 to shop for our engagement rings and take advantage of their Valentine’s Day sales. Had a great day of shopping until 7:52 hit, and we’re finalizing our sale at Daniels Jewelry Store. Thank God for Cheryl and the Manager Crystal there for handling the situation well and pointing out the injustice that occurred.

In an attempt to use the bathroom, I excused my self from the transaction and walked over to the food court. One of the custodial team members (one who refused to tell me his name) 🤡 well call him TIMMY. Now little Timmy approaches me exclusively to tell me that the food court is closed. I politely tell him that I’m not there to dine just to use the bathroom. Me and a group of other men all had the same Intention, but little Timmy only decided to tell me about it. I asked TImmY after relieving myself, how come you didn’t tell the other guys that walked into the bathroom after me? He simply lies and says I tell everyone. He escalates the situation by continuing to talk smack as I’m walking away. Where is the professionalism in that? I made no threats or spoke I’ll of him. I told him to get his mind right and treat people better. I then proceeded back to Daniels to finish my transaction. Around 15 minutes later the most unprofessional security guard approaches me inside of Daniels . With no introduction or preface he asks what seems to be the problem here? I respond, no problem at all I’m shopping. For the next 45 minutes the security guard (we’ll call him Paul B Proactiv) invades my space menacing me with looks and even going as far as to call me a fool and disregard the years of service I have done for my country.

All in all, I felt discriminated and undermined by a group of bored rent a cops. They waited to escort us out, on a day where me and my fiancé are celebrating our love and getting prepared to get married. Due to they’re lack of professionalism we both will never forget that injustice.

I believe that any misuse of power especially in 2024 should be called out and handled properly.

Today my kids were denied a picture with Santa. I arrived at the Wellington Mall photo with Santa and the 2 families in front of me were at the register paying and developing their pictures. As I was the only customer in line, I told the kids to go sit with Santa and they stayed there chatting and waiting for the one customer service representative to be done with the previous customers. While we waited, I took a picture of the 3 of them, just waiting to take the official pictures like I have been doing for the past 8 years at this location. When she finished, there were other people behind me and she asked if anyone had a reservation. A family said they did at 5 pm, it was now 5:10 pm. She asked my kids to get up because she was going to take the reservation first. I advised her that when I got there, there was no one there and that the kids were already with Santa, therefore she could finish with us and then move on to the reservations. The representative was rude to me and my family, and made the kids get up. I told her she was being rude because the kids and Santa were all ready. My kids and I stepped aside and waited for all reservations to be done and at this point the line started increasing. After that, the representative called a walk in family and one of the family members advised her that we’d been waiting, and she told the family member she was not taking my kids picture. I went up do the desk to question her, she completely ignored me and was rude again. I told her I needed a manager and she showed me her managers badge, I asked for the owner and she called security for me. Wellington’s Mall security was very courteous and even walked with me to file an official complaint about this situation, but at this point I had been embarrassed and humiliated in front of my mom who had just arrived today from out of state, my 2 kids and a line full of people. Denying a picture with Santa Clause one week before Christmas to two kids was the worst for me and a person like this should not be working with...

After reading a bunch of reviews on here, I didn't see any reviews directly comparing this mall to the 3 other malls in the general vicinity in Palm Beach County: The Gardens Mall in West Palm Beach, The Boynton Beach Mall, and the Town Center at Boca Raton.

We've been to all of them multiple times in the past year and a half since we moved here and of them all, this one, which we just visited today for the first time, is our unanimous favorite.

We even liked it better than Aventura Mall and Sawgrass Mills which are further away and much larger and more popular.

Here's a summary of what was different/better and what we particularly liked about this mall vs. the others:

1. Sized just right - sizes similarly to The Gardens, much bigger than Boynton and Boca but not too big like Aventura and Sawgrass. You can cover the whole thing in 1-2 hours if you want.
2. Not lavishly decorated but definitely has a warm, cheerful upscale feel. A bit less than Boca and definitely less than the Gardens but leaps and bounds above Boynton.
3. Smells nice and looks clean everywhere you go. I noticed some of the carpeting and furniture looks a little worn and dated and could use some updating, but not in an objectionable or distasteful way.
4. They have so many nice comfortable places to sit! All of the other malls have a serious shortage in this dept. And being someone with chronic back issues who always needs places to rest and sit down while my family members do their shopping, I notice this very much. 5 stars for this alone.
5. This mall has the biggest and best kids play area of any mall in South Florida hands down. My kids are too old to use it, but now that I've seen it I'm loot forward to bringing my grandkids here!
6. We all remarked how we were actually able to shop affordably and find a nice selection of clothes unlike our experiences at Boca and even Aventura and Sawgrass.

All in all, this mall easily tops our list for best mall in South FL. If they would update it just a bit it would make it...
