I usually take my dog here as they always have great service. My latest visit though, has prompted me to find another vet. I called to make an appointment for my dog because she was having ear problems. I spoke to a tech on the phone and asked about the soonest available appointments and was told that there was on Friday. I explained that I had work that day and couldn’t make that appointment. She then offered one for next Wednesday which was too far ahead for my dog to wait, but she also recommended an emergency urgent care vet nearby that could take my dog the same day. Of course, I didn’t want to do that because I knew the amount of money I would be charged for an emergency visit and I could not afford that. I told her I would call her back. I asked my girlfriend if she could take my dog on Friday, which she agreed to. So I called back and asked about the appointment on Friday at 2:30 (This was 2 days before I believe) and we settled on that. Friday came, my girlfriend took my dog to get her ears checked, and was slapped with a hefty $85 dollar emergency visit fee. I was caught off-guard because I was unaware I was taking her in for an emergency visit. Afterwards I called to ask why I was charged that and was told by another tech that they are booked 2-3 weeks in advance which is why they took me in as an emergency. I told them this information was never relayed to me. If that was the case, I would’ve taken my dog to the emergency vet the same day I called them. Why would I wait for an emergency visit appointment? That makes no sense for my dog or I. I was told there’s nothing they could do, but relay a message to Dr. Hayes who was not in the office because of an injury, but my girlfriend was told that he was in the office when she took my dog, but unable to speak to her because of the injury (which is understandable). Be aware this place can...
Read moreIf I could give 1,000 stars I would. We evacuated to Orlando during Hurricane Milton. It became apparent that morning that our beloved Cooper couldn't hang on any longer. Dr. Hayes and his staff could not have been more understanding, supportive and stayed open that morning knowing that there could be people like us who desperately needed them.
At 17.5, Cooper's little body was failing him and while we had known the end was close for awhile, it became apparent he wasn't going to make it and we needed to help him pass peacefully. We walked into the clinic and immediately, Dr. Hayes assessed Cooper and told us we were already starting to lose him. He was the only dog we've ever had and I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate doctor to help me let him go.
We were out of town, staying at a hotel because our home wasn't safe, and Dr. Hayes and his staff made us feel like they had been our care team for Cooper's entire life (I wish they had). I will forever be grateful to them and I can honestly say we would drive from St. Pete to Orlando to have the kind of care we received with Cooper if we had any other pets. With Gratitude, The...
Read moreI am so glad I chose this vet to take my kitty to! As a concerned and caring cat mom, I've been on the lookout for a vet that showed a level of compassion and understanding when it comes to my cat, CJ. He has a neurological disorder and needs a lot of love and care. He is also my baby and I wanted to find someone who would care for him like he was their own. That was exactly what I got when I arrived at Williamsburg Vet Clinic! I was greeted with an amazingly friendly and attentive staff. Dr. Hayes is such a caring and understanding doctor. He really took the time on my initial visit to understand CJ, his history, and any concerns I may have with his overall health. He encouraged me to ask questions and never cut me short or tried to get me "in and out", an experience I've had with many vets in the past. Also, they squeezed me in for an appointment last minute, which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this clinic to any pet owner who has a deep love for their pet and who truly wants a vet who will actually take the time with them and go the extra...
