We got a 1 bedroom suite for 7 nights, 2 Adults and 2 Kids aged 9 and 6.|I wanted this room because from the photos it has 1 king bed in a bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area for the kids.|||Positives: |- The room was huge, so if you need space the 1br suite is the way to go.||- 10min Walk to Discovery Cove, 20min walk to Aquatica - we got Ride Share and took the free shuttle to Seaworld. Uber was easier and faster than the shuttle and was around $7 each way, easy walk to DC and Aquatica no need for a shuttle.||- The breakfast was outstanding for the price we paid, everyday they had something different at the hot stations and we loved making our own waffles. The cereal was fresh and crunchy, everything was clean and plenty of seating.|||Negatives:|- the sofa bed is a SINGLE, where were my 2 kids going to sleep? How does this room sleep 4 people when there is only room for 3? Luckily my kids are small so they did squeeze onto the sofa bed but know this before booking - the sofa bed can't sleep 2 people, I felt a bit mislead.||- The road noise is really loud, it was extremely difficult to sleep at night with the traffic outside. Even with earplugs.||- one staff member wearing a face mask was quite rude when we asked what the bingo wheel was for, she said "you have to do that at check-in" in a very sharp tone, I said " no one told us about it at check in (in fact it was HER who checked us in" so she let my Daughter spin it after she checked our Bonvoy status on her computer. I later saw a different staff member who was letting people spin it once everyday - so I have no idea what the rule was but she was really rude to us and it was uncalled for.||Neutral:|- The pool was OK, it was pretty cold water so not nice to get into, there are a lot of people drinking in the pool and leaving drinks all over the pool edge. It was also quite small for servicing two hotels (it shares with the hotel next door) but it was nice to have it there for the kids as it was 95degrees out.||- On the 3rd night the cleaners took our sofa bed bedding and didn't replace it, we didn't notice until 10pm when we went to go to sleep, I called housekeeping and they said they would bring more - it didn't arrive until Midnight - so 2 hours to get some sheets. The kids ended up sleeping in the main King bed because we just couldn't keep them up waiting for the sheets to arrive. No idea why it took so long.||I probably wouldn't stay here again, the bedding situation wasn't ideal for us and the noise was an issue. But it's a solid place if your situation is...
Read moreFirst off this hotel was so nice and very comfortable I loved a unique concept of the twin hotels they share amenities with SpringHill Suites literally next door. They have a late night grill and a 24/7 Starbucks. There is a pool and a splash pad zone for your little ones or older individuals with autism. They accepted TSA which we were grateful for in a last minute huddle to find something on the East Coast of Florida.
Location is beautiful it's on International Drive a bit South of all the action just a 15-20 minute walk north and you reach everything that can completely bewilder you. Practically on site they had a CVS, Walgreens, TGI Fridays, Wendy's and a bit more down the road 7 minute walk McDonald's Ethiopian Restaurant, Indian Resturant, a Middle Eastern Restaurant, a Colombian Middle Eastern Fusion Restaurant, and a North African Restaurant. Seaworld was also literally on site they provide a shuttle.
The rooms the king size bed was comfy I do have comfier at home but it's very comfortable still. Air was nice and cold they have a wall unit. TV was nice with expanded basic cable/limited premium channels very nice touch there BET, Showtime, The Movie Channel, Lifetime, Freeform, Disney, Nick, and Cartoon Network, plus all local news stations.
WiFi was severely lacking cellular coverage in the area was also very poor on the 5th floor. Carpet throughout except for title in the bathroom missed opportunity for laminate or wood flooring.
Sink was okay nothing fancy nothing horrendous it did back up, tubs were usually strange like in between clawfoot tubs but like standard tubs at the same time and more boxed in deep but narrow shower head was also okay. My opinion when conducting future interior rennovations go with either a jet spray garden tub or just forgo the tub and make a huge walk in shower with an adjustable sitting bench and glass enclosure. Toilet could have also been either toto, or kohler.
Office chair was very nice comfortable size and held weight great whatever this chair is don't change it most office chairs just sink with me being over 6 feet 4 tall. Nice standing vertical mirror so I could check my style/appearance decor could be more updated nice bright lamps.
The Starbucks drinks were wonderful the Frappuccino's were not frozen burnt at all like most Starbucks end up doing. They even can do the seasonal drinks.
I'd stay again was...
Read moreFor someone who travels all the time for his work all over the world, this is by far the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in! It is hard for me to even find one positive thing to say about it. I booked a room for 6 nights. I had problems with it from day one. I had requested cleaning for Monday morning, which would have been my second full day there. Housekeeping did not come to my room till 5:30 PM. I know it may be impossible to get them there during the morning because they need to get rooms ready for new guests, but seriously!! 5:30 PM??!! And for someone who is a Marriott Bonvoy member who booked a room for 6 nights??!! The following day, I figured they would make up for it. No one came at all. The third day, I went down to the front desk to complain about it, they assured me it would be done today. When I returned to my room at 4:30, they still had not come. I complained again, and FINALLY they came and cleaned it. The next problem is that the entire time I was there, the wifi was HORRIBLE. I got kicked off MANY times EVERY day!! I would go back to settings and reconnect, and as soon as I would open an app, I was kicked off again. I complained about it to the front desk, but the girl at the desk just made excuses for it, and acted like I was the exception because she "never has issues with the internet when she uses it on her phone." The other issue is that the front desk NEVER answers the phone. I called them many times during the week, and not once did they answer. Also, when I did go down to speak with them about my many complaints, every time I was there at the desk, the phone would be ringing, and no one would answer. On the second day I was there, I went down to breakfast at 8:30. For a breakfast that is supposed to be available till 9:30, you would think most things would still be available. There was ZERO cereal and ZERO yogurt. There were no bowls anywhere. The entire week, the 2% milk dispenser didn't work. And two of the days, the regular milk dispenser would drizzle out. I complained about all this to the front desk, but no one did anything. If Marriott continues to run their hotels this way, I will stop staying at ANY of...
