I recently stayed at Springhill Seaworld from April 1 - April 3. My family didn't arrive until 9:45pm on April 1. Checked in & was given a room (1614) with a couch covered in white & off white stains, literally on each cushion. The headboard on 1 of the beds was all scratched up & peeling it's faux leather. No trash bags in the trash cans. Called front desk & asked for a new room. This was a 30 minute wait ordeal to change rooms. I did ask about a refund if I canceled & was informed I would receive my money back...in 5-7 days. Being that it was now 10:45pm & I have 2 small children I decided on trying the new room they offered. The new room (1626), while cleaner than the first, had issues too! The large, circle vanity mirror is supposed to light up, it didn't turn on. The comforter was the stiffest, most itchy/scratchy thing I've felt. It's not even the same type of comforter from the first room. The window was stuck open (off the track) & I could hear everything outside, every car, every trash bin being pulled to the dumpster, people talking. I was so annoyed & if it weren't for having 2 small children who were now asleep & it being so late, I'd leave. It was a very busy weekend & hotels with availability were hard to find. Such a disappointment. The front desk staff was very nice but doesn't help the condition of the rooms.
**The following morning (Friday) we called about the light issue and window. Irene was very apologetic and told us the issues would be fixed promptly. Irene explained to my husband that she was taking care of the 2 nights, we wouldn't have to pay for the 2 nights and we would be getting 5000 points on my Bonvoy account. When we returned to the room they had in fact fixed the issues.
Friday evening my husband spoke with Brittany to confirm the changes were made by Irene. Brittany informed us nothing was in the notes to remove any nights.
We called again Saturday morning to speak with management to make sure rooms were removed and Lul informed us that no nights would be removed and they didn't have authority to do so. That is not what Irene had said the day before.**
This trip was such a disappointment all around. The condition of the rooms, to being told different information from each...
Read moreI am really unsure of why there are some negative reviews that complain about things being run down, etc and glad I stuck to my gut when booking. The lobby, pool and rooms are all up to date in my opinion, there are small signs of wear but absolutely nothing concerning. Room was clean, I enjoyed having the split bathroom set up - there is a bathroom with a shower and sink, and another with a toilet and sink. When traveling with 2 adults and 2 kids this really lends itself to changing, getting ready, etc. The pool area was the reason I booked this hotel, and it did not disappoint. Pool was quite large with a zero depth side and a 4 foot side. There is a decent sized hot tub tucked to the side of the pool bar. Pool bar opens at 4 p.m. and serves drinks and some light fare like appetizers. Drinks are a little pricey, it was $36 before tip for two 16 oz beers and one pina colada. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. and planned on enjoying the pool and relaxing for the day since we had a super early flight the next morning. Eileen at the front desk was super helpful and was able to give us a room right away, even though I had only asked if it might be okay for us to use the pool area earlier than check in. She also heard me mention that I wanted to do some laundry and put us on a floor that had a laundry room. There was a team meeting going on while I checked in, and there was definitely good management and positive energy being shared with their team. The hotel is located across the street from Sea world, we could hear the screams and see the rollercoasters. Another family at the pool said there was a free shuttle to and from Sea World that picks up from the lobby, but that it was slightly confusing to time the return trip to the hotel because there were two parts to the route. We were about 12 minutes from the airport - we did the drive around 4:30 am and there was no traffic. We left too early to have breakfast but we were informed that the Starbucks counter in the lobby was open 24/7 you just needed to ask at the front desk if there wasn't an employee at the coffee bar. Overall - I was very happy with this hotel and would absolutely recommend it to families that are looking for a nice pool and...
Read moreStayed for 2 weeks in April 24 with my family, surprised by all the negative reviews recently. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel, our room was clean and tidy. The cleaning team clean and change towels every other day, but if you ask the staff, they are more than happy to change the schedule.|| ||Hotel room: it was a good size for a family, with a living area, which includes a pull-out bed, kitchenette which has a coffee maker (no kettle), microwave and a small fridge. There is also a small desk area within the living area.||The bedroom area had a nice large double bed, with a bathroom (shower only) with a sink and mirror, there was another separate bathroom with a toilet with sink - we found this incredibly handy.|| ||Breakfast buffet: very good selection, porridge (oatmeal), with a selection of dried fruits, chocolate chips, sugars, and other bits you can add.||Fruit with yogurt and granola and cereals.||Hot food includes breakfast wrap (you must make it yourself), waffles and toast or bagels.||Drinks; Cold: orange, apple, cranberry juice. Hot: coffee, and hot water with a selection of tea bags (although this is situated the other side of the room - don't miss it).|| ||The hotel provides a shuttle service to ALL the parks - we only used the SeaWorld bus which was on time and was a good service. We didn't use the Disney buses as we had a car - it took us about 20 minutes to drive to the Disney parks.|| ||The pool area was clean and my 2 year old enjoyed the splash park element, great for a chilled morning/ eve after the parks. A nice perk to have. || ||There are only a couple of improvements I would suggest:||- There was no safe within the room||- The number of plastic plates and cutlery used at breakfast is criminal||- There was a hefty parking charge at the hotel $18 plus tax (although I think most places do charge for parking)|| ||Staff were excellent, especially Nicholas who was extremely helpful and was able to provide expert knowledge on the parks and local area. We had a great stay and would recommend this hotel as it was clean and in a great location with friendly and helpful staff who make the hotel a great...
