October 30, 2024 Another follow up to my June review. Still a one star gym. This time I have photos to share. There are 7 bathroom stalls in the women's bathroom, today 4 of them are broken. This location is sorely lacking in corporate support or funds to upgrade anything. Most members are waiting for it to close. No one will be surprised when it does. They only have 1 spin class and 1 weight lifting class per week, and I think a couple Zumba classes. Rumor has it that they will be cancelling the spin and weight lifting classes soon due to lack of attendance. I can tell you why there is a lack of attendance - because this gym is a run down disaster. The janitor Christian does his best to keep it vacuumed, but you can't expect vacuuming to clean up a gym that has been neglected and run down for years. I would never recommend joining this gym, nor will I ever ask a friend to join me for a workout.
June 20, 2024 This is a follow up to my review below. Nothing has changed at this gym. I would never add a family member or recommend this gym to anyone. I did exactly what they asked me to do below, which was reach out to corporate so they could address my concerns directly. Crickets! I have never heard from anyone at 24 Hour Fitness. Not locally, not corporately. From my year's experience at this gym, there has never been a Manager that lasts longer than 6 months. Clearly this gym has no corporate support. As usual, today there were balls of hair in the Group X room and the women's bathroom; and the women's bathroom has a smell that is typical of dirty bathrooms. This is the same story every day at this gym. The only reason I am at this location is because there isn't a closer 24 Hour to my home, and the Riverside location - my next closest 24 - offers no classes during the day except for Zumba. In fact, most of the classes in Riverside and Corona have been cancelled. 24 Hour Corona is a neglected and ignored step child of the fitness chain. Bottom line is, don't join this gym. It is old and run down. It needs a deep cleaning, and I mean DEEP.
My previous review: I have been going to this gym for 6 months now. Unfortunately. Unfortunately because it's the closest gym to my "new" house. I have been a member of 24 for over 20 years. This is by far the dirtiest and most run down 24 that I have ever been in. The manager seems like she cares, but I think she has absolutely no upper management support. I believe that the 24 Regional Manager works out here. He or she should be fired! I can't believe they think this gym is a good reflection on their management skills. I absolutely would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a gym in this area. In the 6 months I have been going here a few mornings a week, I have only seen a "cleaning person" one time. I don't think they actually have anyone who cleans this gym on any...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews, but I am truly shocked that a company as big as 24 Hour Fitness would blatantly scam people. To be fair, it was my fault for not reading the agreement carefully and just listened to the sales guy about "what the agreement means", but what the sales guy told me from the very beginning was absolutely misleading and borderline fraudulent.
I came in the club to try out the gym since I just recently moved to the area. On their website they offer a "free 3-day trial", so I signed up for that and took the confirmation with me to the gym. When I got there, they told me the free trial is not applicable to me because the address on my driver's license is not Corona. As I was hesitant to actually get a membership, the sales guy told me that I can "get a month for just $30 flat, cancel whenever I want, and all I have to pay is the $30 if I'm not happy with the experience". I thought $30 for a month-long trial is not too bad, and I can always cancel at the end of the month, so I signed up. As I was signing the agreement (which I later found out says the $30 is only a deposit), the guy told me "the paper is about that I agree to pay the $30". After checking out the UFC right across the freeway, I decided to sign up with UFC since it offers much better equipments and more classes.
I called 24 Hour to cancel the membership, and was informed that I need to pay both for the first month and the last month, which total to $82. Enraged, I asked for a copy of the papers I signed when I was signing up, and realized that the paper says the $82 is non-refundable and the initial $30 I paid was only a deposit, so I still need to pay the $52 remaining balance.
While it is my fault for not reading the papers clearly, I believe the way their electronic signing system was set up in an extremely misleading way so that you don't read the $82 unless you insist on seeing the entire agreement. And since that critical one is among some other forms like health risk-release, it is very easy to overlook this important detail. All of these combined with the sales person's false claims eventually led me to sign a form that contained information I was absolutely not informed of by any 24 Hour staff. I will never visit any 24 Hour Fitness again and will try my best to let as many people know about this...
Read moreHonestly I left the small fitness 19 on la Sierra because of the whole cross fit or boot camp thing they were doing. For being small it was ok before they started taking up space for the dang classes. It's small enough as it is. Went there for yrs. Tried this place mainly because it's open 24 hours. It's funny to see all these ppl showing off there boxing skills on the turf in the early mornings. We get it ur tuff. Lmao. Also when ppl use the cables right in front of the cardio machines and then flex OMG I'm dying inside. I swear there was this one dude who would do a set and flex facing the cardio machines. OMG. a lot of meat heads with big bellies walking around flexing just cuse they got decent biceps. Using the pool and such during the day, forget about it . There was this one big overweight dude standing and gagking at ppl threw the diamond shaped window almost as if searching for prey. Weird. At night it's dead wich is perfect for me. No having to wait for a machine or waiting for some dude to do the same exercise 20 times with no weight increase or decrease. Can u say plateau. If u reaaly wanna save money don't let them scam u with memberships and deposits and telling u that they can hold ur "special deal" if u put $10 dollars to save it and such. This one guy that was helping me tried to pull the o let me get my manager to close u out trick after he went inn to look up the cost of a memeberahip for me. Mind u I never gave him my personal info since I flat out told him I was just looking and wasn't ready to make a dicision. He still went for the let me get my manager card. Then I have to explain why I'm not ready all over again to the manager and get told how great of a deal it is and even if I wanted to try it out for free for that day. I was like sorry thank u for ur time. I know the scams and it's sad they work for commission sometimes. THE BEST THING TO DO IS GO TO COSTCO AND GET UR SELF A MEMBERSHIP THERE. $400 FLAT FOR 2 YRS. That's about $16.50 a month for 2 yrs. I know a lot of ppl will have controversy of what I have written but I'm a realist. I tell it how it is....
