Wow, where to start.

We had a large party, so we called ahead in the morning to try and reserve a spot. They don’t do reservations for large parties, but they said if we called two hours ahead they would put us on the waiting list for the night. Okay, totally fine. We called two hours ahead, waited on hold for a reasonable amount of time for a Saturday night, and got on the waitlist.

When we arrived fifteen minutes early, a bit earlier than the rest of the party, we checked in. The hosts were very polite, but the woman I’m assuming is the host manager came in to inform us that if our entire party wasn’t there at exactly the requested time then our table would be GIVEN UP to the next group. Even though there are no reservations and we were on a waitlist??

Well no problem. Luckily we’re punctual. We’re all there on time and we let the manager know. She proceeds to order us to LINE UP so she can COUNT US to make sure we are all there. Of course, like we mentioned, we’re a large group. So our group files in, clogs up the small foyer so our drill sergeant can get a roll call, and when we all get to the front, she turns around and LEAVES. FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES.

The poor hosts try their best to work around us without disobeying Caesar’s orders, letting us know that our table is being prepared for us. Weird for her to call us up if the table isn’t ready but at least she got to count us like she wanted. Oh wait.

When we’re finally allowed to be seated our host brings us out to the patio to our tables. Two tables. Not even enough chairs. Different heights, so we couldn’t even turn around and talk to each other. Great…

Our waitresses come and take our orders. They miss a couple of drinks, and the food is taking forever, but we get it. It’s a Saturday night. They’re gonna be busy. But when our food arrives, well…

I’m a fan of Texas Roadhouse. I’ve been to several different locations in the past few years and they’ve always held up a higher standard among steakhouses. But our food would have been disappointing at an Applebees. The vegetables were straight out of the can. Everything was cold. Each entree and side came on its own plate, so every person had to portion out three plates on our section of the little picnic bench. And the steaks were a perfect medium-well. The problem is we ordered medium rare.

There were plenty of other little things that wouldn’t have been a big deal in another situation, of course. The steak sauce had a cracked lid, so the contents were available to any flies who wanted a taste. The sink only had hot water, so if the cook’s hands didn’t have third degree burns then he probably gave you some extra seasoning. It was 100 degrees on the patio, which isn’t the restaurant’s fault, but the only thing worse than well done steak is well done steak in the summer heat. All these little and not so little things added up to a guarantee that I’ll go to any other Texas Roadhouse or even a Sizzler before I come back here. Hats off to the hosts who have to deal with Lord Vader’s counting antics, and to the waitresses who probably have to pool tips with the cooks: I hope you’ve found a reliable way to steal out of the register and get your lost earnings back.

Attached are some pictures of the evening as well as a picture of Darth Vader interrogating some lined-up rebels, for those of you who didn’t think that...

I’ve been to other TXRH so I figured the one in Corona would be nice to meet a friend for his birthday… wrong. I put my name on the waitlist before I ever arrived. I was seated within 5-10 minutes of getting there so that was great. It was a Sunday at 5:30(8/25) it was crowded but those restaurants typically are. Our waitress I forgot her name or just didn’t hear it as the music was so loud and we were seated underneath a speaker, our waitress (heavily tattooed neck & arms)asked if we were there for any occasion? I said yes to celebrate our friend’s birthday. She brought us a basket of bread but that was it, most TXRH refill the basket when it’s empty, other tables next to ours had fresh refilled baskets brought to them, I don’t really care for the rolls but the other guests at my table did. I don’t think I should have to wave her down when she clearly saw our basket several times as she walked by. She was not personable and barely came to the table to check on us, she wore a tee shirt that read I ❤️my job… clearly that was false advertisement or something she looked at to try and convince herself she loved her job, clearly she did not. Her attitude was she couldn’t wait to go home or her shift was ending soon, if you’re not a people person being a waitress is the wrong job! I saw other waiters/waitresses being so friendly, personable and going above and beyond. Our food was mediocre, a couple of the guests at my table ordered mashed potatoes but they weren’t even warm enough to melt the butter or the cheese on one. The steaks were good but not much beyond seasoning. I know waitresses have no control over the kitchen, but maybe our food was ready hot but she let it sit to long before picking it up? It took a long time to get our food but I was fine with that, but was disappointed when the quality was subpar. The Manager came over to the waitresses area and started asking the tables if they needed anything or if everything was okay, clearly the waitress had problems and complaints. I said nothing bc it was our friends birthday I didn’t want a scene. At the end of our meal the waitress came over and says I hear someone is celebrating a birthday? She said to the friend celebrating if I bring the saddle over are you going to sit on it? Our friend has never been to a TXRH so didn’t know what she meant, she explained & he said no! Our friend turned 22 so it was just supposed to be a funny fun surprise bc we play jokes one one another like such, however it was ruined bc she asked! But at the very least they could’ve come over and did the hokey birthday song but no they did nothing. I paid the bill and we left. The overall experience at this TXRH was awful, it was too loud we barely could hear our conversations, service was slow to nothing & food I could’ve cooked better. I’ll stick with the Rialto TXRH which I wish I would have. I paid for an experience, service and quality food that TXRH is known for and got none of that except for by the hostess when we arrived & being seated soon after arriving. Sorry Corona TXRH you blew it, had we had a better waitress I’m sure it would’ve went well. She was awful!! Sorry I never post reviews even if I had a bad experience but if it’s exceptionally bad I...

No Star — Absolutely Unacceptable Experience at Texas Roadhouse

I honestly don’t even know where to start. We were so excited to try Texas Roadhouse for the first time for my husband’s birthday, we’d heard great things and were really looking forward to it. But this turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.

First, we waited over an hour and 20 minutes to be seated. We didn’t complain because we figured the food would be worth it. We even had plenty of time to look over the menu, so we ordered right away once we finally got a table. But that’s where everything started going downhill fast.

Our very first orders came out wrong and undercooked:

My son ordered a bowl of chili and was given a cup, which is smaller.

My son’s girlfriend’s hamburger came out completely raw in the middle, not rare, but raw, like it was barely seared on the outside.

My son’s steak was bloody, even though we clearly asked for medium well.

And to top it off, my husband’s ribs were cold and tasted reheated, as if they had been sitting around for hours.

Our server took back the raw hamburger but then completely disappeared. Nobody came by to check on us for over 20 minutes. We even tried calling the restaurant from our table just to get someone’s attention and no one answered the phone!

I finally had to wave down another employee, who looked like a hostess, just to ask for a manager. It took another 10 minutes for him to come over. When he finally did, he gave us a quick “i'm sorry, I’ll check on your food” and walked off. The apology didn't feel genuine, and the server had no sense of urgency, nothing.

When our food finally came back out, my son and his girlfriend were eating long after everyone else had already finished. The manager ended up taking about $45 off the bill (one meal and an appetizer), but honestly, that barely scratched the surface after everything we went through.

To make matters worse, two people in our party got sick later that night with upset stomachs, which makes me even more concerned about how the food was being handled.

On top of all that, there’s something else that really stood out and it’s hard not to notice. When we looked around the restaurant, there seemed to be a clear divide in how people were being seated. Most of the White customers were seated together on one side, while Hispanic and other minority families were seated in a different area. It was just uncomfortable and obvious, and it made the whole experience feel even worse.

This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner, and instead, it turned into a complete disaster. Cold food, raw meat, no service, and a manager who didn’t seem to care. Absolutely unacceptable on every level.

We will never return to this location, and I truly hope management takes this seriously because what we experienced was beyond disappointing , it was...

Texas Roadhouse has quite the reputation as a strong contender in the “best restaurant rolls” debate, so I was quite excited to give them a try. The wait on a Sunday night was an hour and a half. You can join the waitlist online - a fact we wish we had known before we were 10 minutes away. On the bright side, there are a handful of things you can entertain yourself with in the plaza during the wait such as Plato’s Closet, Five Below, and Costco. The rolls are pretty good. I wouldn’t say the best rolls out of all the family restaurant chains, but pretty good. The rolls themselves were hot and felt like they were fresh out of the oven. As a savory and sweet enjoyer, I liked the cinnamon butter, but regular butter is available upon request. The appetizers were pretty good. I didn’t realize that Bloomin’ Onions existed outside of Outback Steakhouse, but I liked it. Outback might have the edge there though. And the mozzarella twists were also decent. But I was quite upset about my entree. I got the 12 oz ribeye, smothered in onions, mushrooms, and gravy. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came overdone. And it was only my steak that was overdone! Two girls at my table got sirloins and those came out with a pretty red center. On top of that, the mac and cheese is not very good. It was dry, bland, and tasted like instant mac and cheese. Service was fine. Things came out a bit slower than they should have, but the restaurant was really busy that day (hence the hour and a half wait). They were also out of various items such as the beef tips. To be fair, our server did ask us if everything was ok, and yes, I could have complained about my overcooked steak. But I was tired and hungry after a whole day of apple picking and waiting 90 minutes to be seated and didn’t necessarily feel like sending my steak back to wait another 20 minutes to possibly receive another subpar steak.

Although my first experience at Texas Roadhouse was not the best, I recognize that mine may be an outlier and would be willing to give them another try down the line.
