A beautiful store. Much more suitable than the original location with lots of space. Really expensive for most items, but the cute and plushie items were reasonable, and available in different sizes. If you can get a book or supplies on Amazon through Prime I do not recommend purchasing it from the store. You will most likely find a better price on Amazon with a better return policy. Computers/tablets/software include Apple and Microsoft, though they do have some open hardware in the form of Alienware (as of Dec 2016). While it's a great place to eye up a new machine, again, I don't recommend purchasing through the store, go directly to Apple or MS. Keep your eye on sales for peripherals such as printers through the store though, these could be worth your time. If you are looking for OSU themed gifts, this is definitely the place to go. The sheer range of choice is intoxicating. It is also pride of place to take family members to if you want to show off the campus. Being a non profit store, the money spent will be going where it's needed. The customer service I have experienced has only been positive and as a veteran I have been treated with respect which I...
Read moreThey never gave me my book… They ran out of the textbook for my class, so they special ordered it. After 3 weeks, I still hadn’t received my book so I went to check on it. They told me they did not actually special order it, they just placed a hold for one book in my name on the next shipment and that they are at the mercy of when the publishers send the books and have no idea when that will be. Well great, you could have told me that you wouldn’t know when you were ordering it in the first place. I am mandated by my tuition assistance program to buy my books from the bookstore via a purchase order. So I asked for them to find a different way to get my book because I was doing poorly in my class. They supposedly special-ordered it at this point via Amazon. Yet they said they have no way of tracking when it will arrive because they are “too big an entity”. They suggested that I drop by the bookstore daily to ask if it had arrived if I wanted it so badly. I never received my book last term, and I need the same book for this term. This place is a bad joke. Avoid it if you can and don’t give...
Read moreReally disappointed in the service at the OSU Beaver Store. My mom bought an OSU backpack for my daughter (she wanted it - go Beavs!) this year and the zipper pull came off after light use (she's 9 and is hardly dragging it through the mud!) and the stitching is coming undone. My mom went to exchange it for one that was hopefully not defective and first got the run around and then was told that she was past the date in which their policy allows for exchanges (by 4 days!). Their solution? My mom got a "50% off your next purchase" coupon. Yeah, so she can buy more crappy, marked-up products? Ha! Note to the OSU Beaver Store: if you sell your items at a premium, make sure to buy premium products prior to putting your logo on them. Or at least have the common sense to have good relationships with your suppliers so that you can return defective products.
Friends, you've...
