I rarely leave reviews, but my jewelry was kept by the owner of this store, and I need to leave a review for your awareness. On Tuesday July, I came to this store trying to sell some of my jewelry. I gave my necklace, bracelet, and a ring all set with diamonds to the owner so that he could weigh it on the scale. The owner said that he didn't like my ring with the small diamonds, but he offered on the necklace and bracelet set, but I turned his offer down. I was busy organizing my other jewelry on the table and didn't pay attention to the scale on the right side. He gave me back my necklace and bracelet. However, he didn't give back my ring, but I found out late on Wednesday after had left the store, so Thursday I came back to the store and asked for the ring. The owner likely knew what I came back for; he was unfriendly and ignored me and asked me to wait as he was busy with his customers. After he was done with his customers, he blindly said that I didn't give him any ring and he didn't even look for it. He talked over me and didn't want to listen to whatever I said. I then called police to come and asked them to check the camera recordings, but the store owner said that he couldn't do it as it's too complicated for him to do it. The police was friendly with him and said that they helped him to set up the store long time ago and said nothing they can help me; police suggested either I have to file to the police or the court. Then, The owner discouraged me that he got scams from people selling him bad jewelry for more than $10k and he didn’t do anything about it. I'm devastated with the situation and this just isn't right. He’s in control of his own camera but he can’t show it ? He didn’t communicate with me afterwards, so I can’t do anything about it. So, I am here to help you all to avoid issues. He clearly kept my ring and expected me to let go. My reviews were removed several times on google and I guess the owner had something to do with it. I was trying to say nicely on my reviews. I agree with other reviews said that owner being rude and bullying a young girl like me. I didn’t look up reviews before I come to the store, otherwise I wouldn’t come. Since I am young and naive and minority and my first time there, the owner took advantage of me especially while I have so many and didn’t pay attention on my lost jewelry, so he kept my jewelry without my consent. Obviously he won’t dare to take jewelry from others, as if there is no chance, especially as if you have only one jewelry. All should make your own judgement in person to verify the truth. And experience is different for everyone as the owner knew how to act and fake up to customers. Later, I spoke with other stores and they said they heard bad things about him. So, be careful as some good reviews could be owners’ friends or relatives. In summary, as if you buy jewelry or have any service with owner which paid him money and gave benefits to him, he will act nicely to get your money. As if you don't give him any deal or service, should be careful that he will be a different person that you can't imagine...and in my situation...I lost my ring. Watch out for your jewelry and be prepared to deal with the owner if any issue come up.

Read moreI am happy that I finally get a chance to review the Diamond and Jewelry Exchange in Costa Mesa (Newport-Mesa), right next to the iconic HawleyWoods Barber shop.
Pierre is a great man and great jeweler as well.
He is able to find WHAT EVER you want as well!!!
I went in there a few years ago to see if perhaps he had some Rolex or Cartier watches for sale for both men and women and sure enough he did!!!
It didn’t stop there.
Pierre seems to have deep contacts in the business and has access to amazing deals found in the best places such as ESTATE SALES and more !!!
I’m a guy and only wear fine watches and really don’t wear or use other jewelry but for my wife I have found diamond rings and ruby rings and bracelets and the list goes on.... SERIOUSLY!!!
Pierre has things not jewelry related as well if you are looking to buy anyone a gift such as coins and other things.
Lastly for things such as repairs or cleanings, also consider Pierre as well but just know that you may be leaving with MORE than you expected because he has a plethora of things to look at at almost every price.
I truly hope this helps both YOU the reviewer and Pierre because us consumers NEED more shops like this instead of the bigger more expensive places out there.
THANK YOU PIERRE...
Read morePierre, from my experience, is somewhat of a fraudster/predator. I’m a woman in my 30s who looks quite young. I brought a couple of rings in this week to be looked at. Gold, diamond, and precious stones. At first, he took a look and told me it was all fake. That they weren’t diamonds, and it wasn’t gold. Once he realized I wasn’t just going to pawn off these family heirlooms to him, and that I am a lawyer, he then retracted his analysis (“sorry!”) and determined they WERE diamonds and gold. He tried to gauge my price and when I told him I was first going to multiple people to get it appraised, he advised me NOT to spend any money for a formal appraisal, then offered me $1500 for the ring. I declined, and paid to have a formal appraisal done the next day. The 18k gold, 2.0kt diamond, and 1.5kt sapphire ring was valued at...
