NO FOREIGNERS ALLOWED. I am 31 years old, grew up my whole life in right here in Orange County. I’ve spent the last 9 years living and working outside the USA, and after 7 years of not being home, I finally flew to California for a visit. My California IDs are expired since I do not reside in the USA anymore. (I do security work in the Middle East and reside in one of the countries in that region) They refused to accept my drivers license from the country I reside in, along with my government ID Card from the country I live and work in. I explained to the security guard at the door along with his supervisor, that I am no longer a CA resident and am just here visiting. They refused to accept me, telling me they have a policy where they only accept U.S. ID. They told me to “go get my passport and bring it to the bar”. Every other bar in the area let me in that weekend with those IDs. Since then I’ve noticed that there are several other bad reviews about similar incidents where people with IDs from foreign countries are not accepted at Goathill Tavern. Like I wrote before I do security work in the most dangerous part of the world and I more than anyone else understand the life and job of security people and all the policies, But it is just so ridiculous to expect someone who is traveling , to go to a bar with their passport and risk loosing it in a noisy crowded bar. Every other bar we went to gladly accepted me with my foreign IDs. I encourage management to re-assess this policy, because it is essentially a policy that enforces a “No Foreigners...

Where to begin I've never been in this bar before I stopped there one night after going to The Vape Shop and I had to go to bathroom so I put my food down on the bar and I came back from the bathroom and someone took my food well I asked the bartender who took my food and they wouldn't tell me anything and they knew who took it anyway after a while of me being a little upset some black guy came over with my bag of food laughing thinking that it was funny saying that he was just playing a joke on me I told him I didn't think it was very funny then we got into an argument and he followed me outside all the way to my car talking s* to me the bartender's should be ashamed of themselves for letting that kind of s* go on what kind of place are they running there and what kind of customer service is that I forgot all about this until I was browsing bars in the area on Google I would not recommend this place at all the people there are rude and the...

They discriminate against people with disabilities. I have a disability that causes my hands to tremble. The bartender, who I think was named Mike and was a stocky white gentleman with very short hair, repeatedly accused me of being on drugs. He also made me perform a "field sobriety test" by tracking my eyes with his fingers before he would serve me, even though I explained that I had a disability. Even after I passed his "test" he continued to make humiliating remarks accusing me of being intoxicated on substances, even though I explained to him that I have a disability that causes physical tremors. At one point he said "I know you're on something but I'll still serve you." This was very humiliating and awkward, and caused me further stress. Discrimination against people with disabilities is against federal and state law. I attached a photo of my Medicare card, I am 35 and only eligible for Medicare at my age because I have...

Had a terrible experience here. Staff was not friendly, the security was walking around coughing and sneezing near us, and we had to keep getting new glasses because they kept giving us dirty ones for our pitcher of beer. Truthfully the whole experience was really just a turn off for me and my group of friends for our first visit and I would not recommend this place to others when there’s so many better options out there that won’t make you concerned about getting sick once you leave. Also, if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, this place has an indoor smoking lounge that is attached and separated by doors that do not prevent the smoke from seeping in. The building itself has very poor ventilation which did not help. Check your surroundings when you’re there and make sure you keep yourself safe.

Growing up in Orange County, goat hill tavern can be recognized as the reunion spot for high school (about 3 miles away). my brother just had his 20 year reunion and my theory was right. As it is a nostalgic and central dive bar in Costa Mesa, I do enjoy coming here for a beer with friends. I came just recently and they had great service while their was a Ufc fight
