TeWinkle Park — Attraction in Costa Mesa

Great place by The OC fairgrounds. 🎡🎠 Lots of big parking spaces🅿️ Great water feature in duck pond Lots of money spent for duck feed and electricity for electric pumps. ⛲🦢 Great dog park. Dogs are separated between large and small. 🐕‍🦺 Large dog is 15 lbs or more🐩 There are a lot of dogs at the dog park with good containment fencing and parking. 🐶 Lots of bags and cans for dog waste offered a dog park. 💩🗑️ The skatepark is really rad. 🛹 The skate park has a street course and a bowl. The bowl is super deep and scary looking but has some good curves that offers lightning speed.🏃‍♀️ No bike or scooters allowed in the skatepark. The park has lots of green grass that is well cared for.🚫🚳🛴🚲 YOU must provide your own protective skateboard gear from dismembering broken bones or permanent injuries⛑️ Skate park is lighting at night and it offers protection from sun with shaded skate areas. The skate Park offers a smooth and crack free surface for the smallest skateboard wheels. 🛹 Park has very big shade trees that are well grown watered and robust🌳 The water feature is overrun with ducks and other various waterfowl.🦆🦃 It's not that deep and poses no danger to children. 🚸 Although I must have many bacteria in it. 🦠 Grateful for a wedding photo by the water features. 👰💍 The park must spend many dollars in electricity for all the pumping equipment running 24/7 to keep the duck water from becoming stagnant, smelly, and bacteria filled. ⛲ Baseball diamonds are huge and well-lit. 🥎 Has very good dugouts and clay at the baseball diamonds. ⚾ Baseball diamonds have a large amount of parking. 🧢 no alcoholic beverages are absolutely prohibited at the baseball field facilities. 🍾 The racket courts are quite nice for tennis and racquetball. 🎾 There is an office that coordinates these facilities for the tennis courts. 🏸 You feel safe at the park without an armed guard . 👮🏿‍♂️ Plenty of street parking also offered. 🚗 There are a lot of bathroom facilities also offered. 🚽🚻 They have good bathroom tissue🧻 Great for date offering a picnic with a family or taking junior to the playground. 👩‍❤️‍👨👩‍👩‍👧👩‍👦 Playing around equipment is state of the art, safe, and top of the...

The trail options are fantastic, we love to walk them or do light sprinting. They are paved for strollers, walking trails or bridges near the ducks, geese, and water. The rockside is still one of my favorite areas in this park. It also over looks the grand playground that offers many options, caters to many ages, is accessible for both parents to join their young kids and let them explore for themselves to discover new ways to play. There is soft ground from recycled rubber which aids for unexpected trips and falls, lots of shaded areas for kids/parents, sitting areas, bathrooms. There is a decent size separate sandbox with unique discovery toys, a rocking boat for a large group with 2 cupholders and small table for bringing imagination to your picnic with the kiddos or a pirate personality to pair with mom's much needed macchiato. The accessibility swings however are probably the finest feature for those who can utilize them; every kid should be able to feel like a carefree kid with the wind kissing their face, and every parent hopes they can, these 2 swings provide opportunity and ability. This beautiful place is a natural sanctuary for people and wildlife. Thanks to the staff of employees and volunteers who help to preserve the natural ecosystem within the park. Thanks also for the visitors who may take an active role of vigilance regarding any threat of harm to the wildlife and property! I like to take the nature walk amongst the trees, thru the pond trails and around the perimeter path, ending back by the playground. The flat field space has enough room for a game of soccer, football or most other spur of the moment team sports. The baseball diamonds off of Arlington Drive, provide enough space for four different games to be played at the same time! There’s lots of space for group and family gatherings. Open space picnic tables appear to be available on a first come, first serve basis, tho the sheltered tables spots may need reservations. Restrooms are available and kept in fairly good condition. TeWinkle Park is like multiple parks in one, with the main area around the Angels Playground at Junipero Drive, the baseball diamonds and track by the Davis Magnet School.
