We came out here to pick apples, but they also had a good variety of pumpkins and decorative gourds as well. You could also buy apple butter, preserves, mums and pre-picked apples. Pre-picked "grade B" apples were discounted -- a great deal if you're into canning or making applesauce. It is a busy, working farm. It is charming and rustic! You pick up your apple picking bags at the back of the barn and then you can either walk to the orchard or catch a ride on the hayrack. When you come back you weigh your apples. Apples were very reasonably priced and they had a good variety. Being a true century+ old farm, some of the apple trees are huge! They give you a little handout when you come in detailing which apples are ripe and what they are good for -- very helpful! The have a small play area set up for the kids with a tank full of corn, a fort with a slide, a corn bale maze and a couple of other things to climb on. There were tons of great photo backdrops if you want to get some cute family pictures. The drive out there is gorgeous! A very pleasant family-friendly way to spend...
Read moreWe planned a visit for 9/3/2022, called beforehand two weeks prior, and checked hours on the website. Arrived at 950 am, waited for 20 minutes, place was supposed to open at 10 am, went to the closed gate and asked is it going to open was told we had to go to gate 4 to gain entrance. Drove to gate 4 and was denied entrance. Parking people said the farm was closed because of an event that day.
I forgot to mention that there were 8 cars of family that were planning to celebrate my grandaughters 1st birthday at the farm. We were left with nowhere to go. There were several people and children really looking forward to seeing the farm operation and all the animals.
The fact that they confirmed that they woukd be open that day and the website also showed that it was, really sucks! Bad management and bad customer service.
