Costa Mesa Speedway is a local fund historic event. Back in the 1970s, 1980s and even the 1990s the Costa Mesa Speedway track was the SoCal favorite place to go. The sport has unfortunately dwindle away, it is not as popular as it used to be but it's still a good time and for a lot of us it's a tradition. I used to go to Speedway every week as a kid, this was where we hung out back in the day on Friday nights. Fast-forward almost 40 years and we only get roughly a half a dozen races for the year compared to 24 races so for some of us this is a special place, a lot of childhood memories and now we just sit in the stands, drink beer and watch the 1970s go around the track.
