This is a great park, but I have a few gripes with some things, especially as a beginner. The layout and features are great. There's artificial turf in a few places, which is an awesome idea in terms of making "safe spaces," for lack of better wording. However, I feel as though it's not the best for beginners; there's no real practice rails or ledges. The only suitable ledges and rails for practicing are part of bigger obstacles that people will be skating. With that said, there is a shallow bowl that is easier to drop in on, as well as a "real" bowl. The people here are really really nice. They're accepting of beginners, including those of different disciplines (even the ones that are banned!). However, they also sit on and around obstacles and even leave their belongings on them (including smartphones?). I haven't had an issue with asking them to move, though. Another problem I have, even though it doesn't affect me, is that only skateboards and roller/inline skates are allowed. Scooters and bicycles are explicitly banned. People bring them anyway of course, but I can't support banning any discipline regardless. I believe the issue with the latter is that they damage the park badly, but I think issues like that can be alleviated with things such as plastic pegs. Riders of those disciplines have been some of the nicest to me; I'm going to try and make a request to the city...
Read moreI stopped by for a look on the way to the OC Fairgrounds. I’ve seen better, tho this skatepark was amazing, as was some of the skateboarders here! While the basic steps and ramps were expected and simple, dropping into a bowl here may need some carving practice beforehand! Deep dips and steep walls on one side, seemed almost impossible for the average person to maneuver, much less trying to ride the rims without falling in. When the skateboarders did have mess-ups, they were able to avoid the uncontrollable wipe outs, and come out of...
Read moreGreat skateboarding facility with a variety of different types of ramps, rail slides and a nice big drop in empty pool for boarding enthusiasts of All age groups. The skate boarders that frequent this park are extremely kind and courteous of the young children and each other alike.
There are also Skate Boarding Classes available. I strongly recommend this facility if you or your children are into in skateboarding or just want to learn how.
Pads and helmet required. Bring your own equipment. No...
