Subject: Extremely Disappointed with Club Meow’s Unprofessionalism
I am beyond disappointed with Club Meow and will absolutely not be recommending them to anyone. We made an appointment for today, 1/4/25, last week, received a confirmation email, and uploaded all the required paperwork. Fast forward to today, we drive an hour to bring our cat in for grooming, only to be told that they had canceled our appointment—because someone with the same last name called to schedule their cat, and they assumed we were the same family. They never verified with us. Not once did anyone from the business reach out to confirm or explain this mistake before we made the long drive.
When I asked the owner, “So this is a mistake on your part, not mine, correct?” she had the nerve to respond rudely, “Yes, it’s correct.” I’ve never written a negative review before, but this experience was absolutely unacceptable. As a business owner myself, if I made a mistake like that, I’d be doing whatever it took to make it right—staying late, offering compensation, anything—but instead, I was met with zero accountability and no effort to fix the situation.
Who cancels an appointment without any verification whatsoever? We didn’t even get a cancellation notice. There’s no excuse for this level of negligence. The owner even tried to blame it on losing a staff member, but that’s not my problem as a client. If you’re running a business, you need to make sure the basics are covered.
They also gave me the number of the person who supposedly canceled my appointment, but offered no solution to fix the mistake. This is just terrible service. I’d advise anyone to stay far, far away, or at the very least, make sure you triple-check that your appointment wasn’t canceled without your knowledge. I’m beyond frustrated, and this experience has been a complete waste of time. 0/10, wouldn’t...
Read moreRefused to take my cat because of his post trauma with a groomer. The other groomers had handled him a bit aggressively and cut a few of his quicks. He had trauma for a very long time but it's been a year since then and he's calmed down from the events.
I haven't been able to cut his nails like we used to prior to his first grooming but all he does now is growl and pull his paw back. He's never shown any aggression to vet techs, strangers or, anyone in the house hold. When I went to pick him up from his old groomer his attitude was fine. I have pictures of the the technicians there coddling him like a baby. He was just scared.
What makes me more upset about the situation is first they say that I can make an appointment. Then when I tell them what the prior techs said AND DID they suddenly don't have appointments anymore. All the while I can hear a cat growling in the background while being groomed. The woman wouldn't let me talk and kept talking over me. I don't want to give someone like that my...
Read moreClub Meow is a warm, inviting, and clean feline boarding and grooming facility. The staff are very considerate and some of the most patient people I have ever met dealing with cats. As a veterinarian, I get asked all the time to sedate cats for grooming. I always suggest they try Club Meow first, because most of the time they can get the groom done without the sedation and cats are beautiful and go home without stress. I have known Mel, the founder, since 2006 when I first moved to Council Bluffs and she was working in animal control. I have seen her first hand deal with difficult dogs and cats and calm them down with ease. At Club Meow, there is a window where a person can look in and see the boarding cats and kittens, my children also like to visit this window when we are at the mall. It is neat to see the little notes about each kitty. I highly recommend Club Meow and I refer my...
