Birchwood Park — Attraction in Cranford

RENTERS BEWARE! My wife and I, two senior citizens, lived in Birchwood Park in Cranford for three years. We were the original tenants in our apartment: The floors are paper-thin, and there’s no concrete between floors, so unless you live in a third-floor apartment, you’ll hear the footsteps of your upstairs neighbors, as well as other common noises such as vacuuming. Even though we replaced our area rugs with larger ones, bought additional rugs, added thicker padding, etc., our downstairs neighbors still constantly complained about the noise. And this was despite our not hosting parties, playing loud music, exercising, or do anything else that would be expected to generate loud noise. The floors are so thin that you can feel them bounce when you walk from one room to another. Equally troubling is that management, rather than acknowledge or try to fix the problem, reacted to our downstairs neighbors’ complaints by having their outside counsel send us a formal letter threatening us with eviction! The gym is tiny. Often, I was unable to get on a treadmill or exercise bike when I wanted to. The other amenities are limited. There is no playground or pool. Rents went up 5-10% each year. Wow, where to start.

When we first came to visit the property, it was May 2020. Only the 225 building was completed and Traci from day 1 has been amazing to work with. She is who walked us through securing a unit, signing a lease, moving in and now…moving out.

Traci, THANK YOU for everything. Although we never had issues in our apartment just being able to walk past you every day and say hi, hang out and chat and then keep going was awesome. Thank you for seeing us and welcoming us with open arms to the neighborhood and overall Cranford area.

Victor & Chris, thank you for always being kind and joking with us when we did have the few (literally less than 2) issues in the apartment during our time there.

Sara, you’ve picked a great team to represent not only Garden Communities but, Birchwood Park. Thank you for seeing their qualities and bringing them in to lead and manage the space. The team is nothing short of amazing.

Overall, if we didn’t have to move, we wouldn’t have. I definitely would recommend this complex to any and everyone. This team is the absolute best!!

My boyfriend and I moved in about a month ago and we LOVE it here. We were able to choose our apartment and we chose the 3rd floor. With that being said, we have no problems with noise above us due to being on the top floor. I do know that others have complained about a lot of noise so keep that in mind. We have had a noise complaint about us when we were doing absolutely nothing so I do think that noise can come from other directions other than just who is directly above you. I have had no problems with noise around me. Other than that, the apartments are probably the most spacious one bedrooms I have ever seen. Everything is modern, bright, and open.These apartments are designed SO beautifully and the laundry room is a plus. It is huge! There is room for storage in there and even a desk if you wanted to. I also love having two separate closets in the bedroom. They are both pretty big! The gym is not opened yet which is one thing I am disappointed about. We have had one thing that we had to contact maintenance about and he came almost right away to fix it. I highly recommend...
