I have been there before and I find the food to be very good but my recent story will never have me visiting this place again.
I made a reservation for my son, his wife, my wife ,and my mother for Mother's Day. I spoke to I guess would be Sal two to three weeks prior to the event and I was told that I had the reservation. I showed up that day and was not on the books. Mistakes happen and I was trying to work with the waiter I was talking to. Then Sal, the owner, came out, screaming at me, calling me a liar and got upset when I said that I called and spoke with a gentleman with an Italian accent(I guess him). He yelled at me for saying he was a liar and when I told him that mistakes happen but his behavior is unacceptable in this instance. He then kicked me out saying I just lost the opportunity to dine there. I feel I lost nothing.
In all seriousness, we live in a world that looks down upon bullies. I have seen damage bullies can do to adults and children alike. This man is a bully. I have heard stories of what he has done to others and he should be ashamed of himself for his totalitarian behavior. I am sure his workers fear him and he likes it that way.
I believe that we all make mistakes but it is what we do after the mistake is made that we are judged as the person we are. Sal came out of the kitchen with the purpose to embarrass and humiliate me in front of my family and anyone else that would listen. When I spoke up for myself and Sal realized he would not get the pleasure of seeing me snivel, I was kicked out. In a world where bullies are looked down upon I ask you to take my review and use it wisely, today I was the person Sal bullied, tomorrow it...
Read moreTaormina never really enticed me to go inside. I had a few people tell me that the food was great but it still looked kind of boring from the outside. After reading some Yelp reviews and one claiming they had an amazing bone in veal parm I decided to give it a try. From the moment I walked in I was shocked. The place was tasteful and upscale. There was even live music. After ordering a glass of reasonably priced Montipulciano our appetizer arrived. Me and my wife shared a mozzarella caprese with prosciutto plate. It wasn't a lot but it was very tasty and a just right refreshing start to our meal. I ordered the veal park and first off it was huge! Luckily it wasn't just the looks that made it a standout dish... It was delicious. Perfectly fried, amazing sauce and cheese. I have had veal park in more Italian restaurants than I can count, it is one of my weaknesses', and this is one of the best! My wife had the spaghetti taormina which was also filled with flavor and very satisfying. Needless to say I will be back. This is automatically going near the top of my favorite Italian...
Read moreSO RUDE! They treat customers as if they are privileged to be there and are not shy about it. I tried several times to like this place because the reviews are generally positive however I've decided they do not deserve my business.
After calling to reschedule a reservation, I was rudely hung up on by person who answered. I called back and the woman said she was the manager and then defended hanging up on me because I could no longer make my intended reservation (for which i gave more than 24hr notice) and told me that she had no reason to continue speaking to me. She told me that she was sorry that I "perceived her hanging up on me up be rude". I told her that had she not hung up on me, she would have learned that I was trying to reschedule for either later that night or the following day but based on her vile attitude , I told her nevermind. I guess they don't need any more business.
Also, food is low quality , bland and the dishes are boring and inauthentic.
The owners should be ASHAMED of themselves. Never again will I support...
