Guerreros Taqueria — Restaurant in Kenilworth

I am absolutely disappointed with my experience at this taqueria on Cinco de Mayo. Let me warn you now, do not even attempt to get food from this establishment on the holiday. Although I'm sure the food is delicious, I wouldn't know because I never even got to taste it!

I ordered my food through their website and eagerly went to pick it up, but what ensued was an absolute nightmare. I stood there for a grueling 2 hours and my order was still not even prepared! Every time anyone asked the staff about how long orders would take, they had no answer.

As if that wasn't enough, I witnessed Grubhub drivers cancel orders left and right, and even a customer who ordered through Grubhub confronting the driver of his order for the excruciating wait time. And to add insult to injury, a couple waltzed in, dined in, and left before numerous takeout orders were even touched!

I had finally had enough and asked for the status of my order one last time. When they couldn't even give me an estimate, and started to write my order down again as if it wasn’t even in the system, i immediately canceled my order.

I was excited to try the birria tacos here, hoping for something authentic and flavorful. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing but frustrating. First, they got my order wrong and gave me steak tacos instead, forcing me to wait an extra 15 minutes for the correct order. When I finally got my food, I was beyond disappointed. Do NOT order through door dash. I ordered birria tacos as a special treat and was SO excited for my food to arrive. The tacos came with NO birria sauce - I've ordered birria tacos at tons of restaurants and have NEVER had to specify that I wanted or had to pay extra for the consomé - the sauce is literally what makes it a birria taco. I went to order the consomé so I could actually enjoy the food I paid for, but it would have been $16 additional dollars and 40 extra minutes just for the sauce. I'm sad and regret this...
