Tum Thai — Restaurant in Kenilworth

Ordered the vegan beef and mixed veggies. I was skeptical about whether it really wasnt ACTUAL beef but after eating a piece whole I was convinced (sorta). Experience was short and indifferent up until it was time for me to leave. I felt like I was being rushed out and as I put my food back in my bag preparing to leave, the male host at the front just stood near and watched me. I finally got myself together and turned towards the door only to notice that he was STILL staring at me. I asked him if I did anything wrong to which he replied, “oh no” and started to walk into the back once he saw my foot out the door. I walked out the door towards my car and turned back to look at the sign of the place again and saw that he had came back out and was watching me through the window. I’m not sure if he was suspicious of me or what but he made me very uncomfortable. I felt like I was being criminalized w/ how intently he watched me. Probably won’t be back or recommend this location. Not to mention when I asked for sauces he said that they dont have sauce because it’s a thai place, not chinese. I’m not familiar w/ the logistics of that so I didn’t hesitate to move...

I came here about three years ago with some friends and we had a great experience. The food was excellent and the service was great. I came here today with my husband and we were highly disappointed. Especially given the fact that I spoke highly of this place. This was my husband’s first time here.

Our service was absolutely TERRIBLE. More towards my husband than me. She was rude towards him, aggressively put down his plate, wouldn’t look at him when ordering, nothing. With me, she was nicer and even gave me the bill and didn’t look at my husband. I’m not saying that people should assume he’s paying but she wasn’t pleasant.

When it came to our food, his looked like dog food, to put quite frankly. My food was alright but it wasn’t spicy when I ordered spicy. When we were leaving, she said goodbye and have a goodnight but didn’t even look at my husband.

Long story short, I am very disappointed. I wouldn’t go back here and I just suggest the customer service...

Passed thru the town and my husband decided to get some pineapple fried rice (which ended up being coconut fried rice) and a mango sticky rice. We received the mango sticky rice like this, we saw this right when we got home 25 min later.. no this is not my vomit, no the car didn’t flip over, no we didn’t handle the bag wildly. we called obviously to tell them like any other person would and they literally told us off and cut the phone, and no we weren’t mean- were cool laid back people. all he said is to just bring it back bc they don’t believe us or whatever. Wild costumer service. Anyway, We went back to show them and exchange for an actual real mango sticky rice but all he did was give us $6 back and said that’s how they serve it and bye. Hmm ok I’m sure everyone can agree they don’t get it like this- and if it’s TOGO- package it separately? So the “Pineapple fried Rice” was nasty and the “mango sticky rice” was nasty along with their service....
