Elegance Nails IV — Attraction in Cranford

I want to give a 3 based on their customer service but giving a 4 because of Chloe.

My last experince at Elegance was so bad that I was looking for a new place to get my nails done immediately after walking out. For my last appointment my nail tech didn't ask if I wanted my nails shaped, applied the polish unevenly so my nails looked bulbous at the tip, my nails felt bumpy and uneven on top, and the gel was painted onto my cuticles so as it grew out, the sharp edges caught everything. I work at a spa, if someone has an issue there is a specific way we handle things to ensure that the client feels comfortable and more valued for their next service. I barely spoke to the manager about this issue as it felt like I was being rushed off the phone. I still made my next appointment but with Mr. Din as 3 people encouraged me to go to him because my wedding is coming up. When I arrive to my appointment, I check in and put who it should be with and they still sit me with someone else! If I just had an issue and requested someone specific, why am I not waiting for who I requested?? If I'm not going to see the person I asked the manager to put me with on the phone and checked in for, as a paying client why am I not told that right away?? Because if he was overbooked, they should have told me that so I could have chosen a different time or day. Next time I request someone and get moved to someone else I will leave because that's not right. Long story short, I still wanted to wait for Mr. Din as requested but at that point he already had a new client in his chair... super aggravating! Luckily Chloe took her time and did a beautiful job on my nails but in the future, when I request someone, I expect to be with that person. I just had one of the most racist and horrible customer service I’ve ever experienced at Elegance.

I have been coming to this place for over 4 years and I have waited for my appointment every single time, sometimes over 30 mins. On 6/16 I went in at 9:45am to get ONE nail fixed and Lin had the nerve to ask me if I got my nails done there and if I had an appointment. They don’t have any respect or care for their loyal customers. I came to fix one nail and they said I should have made an appointment. Meanwhile 3 technicians were absolutely available. They claimed they have other appointments. One tech was standing outside, another walking around and another was doing her own nails and watching something on her phone. I was there for almost 10 mins and not one person walked in. They claimed that my one nail would delay the customers that weren’t there. I called my friend who was there on Wednesday to tell her about the racism I experienced and she said on Wednesday, Lin stopped working on a customer as soon as a white lady came in and fix her nail. Lin didn’t ask her for an appointment or anything. When I called Lin from my car she didn’t apologize, she simply kept saying “are you done?”

I hope more people write reviews about their horrible attitude especially to people of color. They greet all the people of color with rudeness and disgust.

Awesome staff, relaxing atmosphere Mr.Din is the best...6-10-23 Chloe is awesome also very pleasant atmosphere continuing. Today 6-23-23 was the best pedicure I've had in months and as usual Chloe was awesome. Today July 22,2023 Chloe was awesome as usual and the Pedicure was outstanding so relaxing. August 19,2023. Tried something new today, admired Chole professionalism. Pedicure by Martha I admire her patience, takes her time makes the visit totally relaxing. Sept 16, 2023 spectacular visit especially after a hectic month, Chloe awesome as usual and Martha is spectacular as usual. Today October 14th. Another amazing visit Chloe and Martha are excellent. Especially after what seems like a week of Monday blues. Very relaxing..November 24 2023. Busy schedule only had time for gel manicure Chloe did a magnificent job as always.
