I have been coming to this lake every year literally for the past 13 years. Its one of my family's favorite spots and my kids love it. Id give it a 5 star on all other years I've attended, but this year we ran into a minor hiccup that last a bad taste in my mouth. I have children with Autism and this year we decided to get a service/emotional support ADA dog. Before purchasing tickets to the Waterpark, which is a fantastic spot, I had asked if our dog was allowed and they said yes. We had our note and everything if needed. Our dog was perfect and had very few moments of "barking" as one of the staff members pointed out, but the barking was not an aggressive bark.. it was more of a nervous or worry bark being that two of the children were on the waterpark play things falling off and "playing" so it probably worried our dog watching out for the kids. My husband called my son back to shore so our dog would stop whimpering because the staff had said we would need to leave if he continued barking. This got me mad because now my son has to sit out because my dog was worried about him... our dog was not aggressive nor was he acting anyway bad while we were there. My daughter too is non verbal and the lifeguard kept blowing her whistle and screaming for everyone to get out and it takes a minute to collect my daughter so I had to point out to give us a minute because shes Austic and non verbal and to stop yelling. I didnt like this at all because its discriminating against special needs kids. There were no issues after that, but my son did have to sit out a majority of our time there because our dog was "barking." Again, not an aggressive bark at all. All in all, we love this lake so much and what it has to offer ... we never had issues before but we didnt have our service dog...
Read moreSubject: Urgent Action Needed to Address Littering and Water Safety at Lake Gregory Regional Park
Dear [Authorities/Community Officials],
I am writing to express my deep concern about the current state of Lake Gregory Regional Park and the surrounding mountain community. It has come to my attention that the water quality is unsanitary for recreational activities, posing health risks to visitors.
Moreover, it is disheartening to witness the growing disregard for our natural environment. Visitors are leaving behind trash, beer cans, and even dog waste, which detracts from the beauty of our national forest and undermines the very reason people come to enjoy this sacred space. This littering not only harms the scenery but also threatens local wildlife, which relies on this habitat to survive and thrive.
I urge authorities to take immediate action against littering and enforce stricter penalties for those who violate these rules. It is imperative that we protect our natural resources and ensure that Lake Gregory remains a safe and beautiful destination for all. Additionally, enforcement of speed limits in the area is crucial to protect pedestrians, especially the elderly, from dangerous driving.
Let us work together to foster a community that embodies respect, peace, and love for Mother Nature. If we do not act now, we risk endangering the delicate ecosystem and the wildlife that depends on it.
Thank you for your attention to this pressing matter.
Sincerely, Kylie Terriquez:
Advocate for Environmental Rights and Humanitarian Assistance Mother Nature and Mountain Communities Across the San Bernardino, CA...
Read moreThis review is merely on the swimming side of the lake only. Don’t know about the kayak or fishing. Ok here we go, first we got lost, I wish there was more direct signs to point you to the entrance. There is only one entrance so if you circle around eventually you will find it. Well to be fair the only reason I found the entrance was because a local told me how to get there(very nice guy). Once arriving to the entrance we found parking right away, we discovered we had to pay for parking (makes sense, make sure you pay for parking because there is attendant watching the lot)Then we stood in line signed a waiver that if we get hurt inside we’re on our own. Once we got to the window I was blown away by the fees. $10 for parking, $10 per head, including the kids but under 5 years old they are free. I have 5kids. So I’m now at $70 including parking(jeeez) don’t get me wrong it is a great for families but in my opinion your paying for the ambience. I didn’t see any ghettoness. And “HOOD people” so that was a plus but dang, really. The lake is divided into two halves. One side for swimming and the other is for going on the inflatable slide, if you pay an extra $15 per person. And they also have cabanas available to you if you pay extra lol. I get it maintenance cost money but come on you can still make money if you lower down these prices. But Like I said your paying for the ambience . All in all nice lil area, probably gotta save up my chips for next time, but I probably...
