Went to eat and to make reservations for the upcoming Saturday. Walked in and waited a few min in line. Then the young man at the podium asks what we want to drink. No greeting No hello or welcome just.. "what do you want to drink?" So we tell him and I ask who I need to talk to about making reservations. He replies with " me but let me finish this." Okaaay.. so I pay and ask again and he says move to the side and let me check them in.. a couple people walked in behind us. Okaaay again very droll and not engaging borderline rude. So we step to the side and wait and then he gets to book and turns to Saturday where there is 3 reservations written down one for 2:30pm and a big red x and it says no more. I need a reservation for 6pm.. so only 2 reservations in the book that could maybe be around that time but I'm not sure. So the kid looks up and says I can't do it. Nothing else no sorry no suggestion. I ask what are our options and he shrugs and says "I dunno. You'll have to talk to her." He proceeds to grab the lady in the office and she come out and tells me " I don't know why he has it marked out and he's not here but you can call and ask the GM on Wednesday" and then I ask well is there call ahead seating? And she says you can show up an hour early. I inform her that my children will be graduating during that time and that doesn't work. So she says we'll you probably wouldn't all be sat together if just come in. Soo what's the point? They seemed very uninterested in the whole thing.. and unhelpful to say the least.. So my son and I go to eat the dinner we just paid for. I wait for a hot minute for someone to help me at the steak station to be told come back so this piece can cook. This all occurred on a Monday while the restraunt was dead. The server was nice and on top of everything but the customer service otherwise was really lacking! We will be taking or party of 20 elsewhere for graduation dinner. This was one of the few options large enough to accommodate a large party in Cullman. I guess they don't want to do any planning to...
Read moreThe only decent part of this place is the food and that is a stretch. We have eaten here many times and never had as bad of an experience as we did yesterday 8-24-24. It started with the person they had managing the register, this individual would not listen to anything we said and had our drinks all wrong and we were charged wrong as well. Silverware was dirty and missing the knife and spoon. We tried to explain the problems to the person that came to take our drink list but she wouldn't listen either. I am as nice as I can be to servers but when you absolutely will not listen I can only be calm so long. I explained over and over that we were over charged and what was on our tickets for drinks was incorrect. The server just walked away an refused to assist in fixing the problem. She sent a male server to our area who was very nice but also unable to assist in fixing the problem, it finally came to a point where I couldn't apparently get a manager and I was just willing to lose the money if they would just get our drinks right. The drinks were correct but after all of the fuss we were not given kids cups for our young children or straws and were not checked on for refills like should be expected for the lighter crowd that had during our visit. I hope that who ever reads this addresses these issues with the correct staff, I was never given the opportunity to speak to a manager or event he managers name. I know that my one $135 sale a week wont be missed but we will be finding other establishments to give our...
Read moreWe had a family dinner with about nine people in our group with varying eating preferences from vegan to fast food junkies. We arrived at 6:30 so not too late. There may have been 30 people there. That being said the dining area was clean. The men's restroom was dirty. Our waitresses were very nice and attentive. The cashier was competent but not very welcoming. She was more interested in the young man hanging out at the register to talk to her. The pulled pork was very tender, the fried fish was delicious, the salad bar was clean and the vegetables looked fresh for the most part. The fruit was hard, tasteless and cut in such a way that I felt like we were eating the scraps like the core of the pineapple. The vegetables looked like they had been out all day. They were severely overcooked, tasteless and had more oil in them than the meat did. I was impressed that they labeled the vegetables that had pork in them. Had the vegetables and some of the other food not been out so very long, cooked to mush and bathed in oil there would have been a great selection there. As it was there was barely anything worth eating. I once heard someone refer to Golden Corral as the feeding trough. That seems to be a good description of not only this one but most that I've visited. I had hoped this one would be different because I live here and know the quality of living in Cullman is better than...
