Maze Rooms Escape Games - Culver City — Attraction in Culver City

I was lucky enough to get to beta test They're Coming at the Culver City Maze Room location. The game was almost 100% complete and I was thrilled to get to experience it. I've now done all the rooms at this location and this is definitely my favorite. Without saying too much this is a zombie themed room that leaves you trapped in the heart of LA during a zombie outbreak. The owner is a huge horror film fanatic and you can see those cinematic influences throughout the game. It's like being in your own zombie movie! From the very start, the way the players are integrated into the story line was absolutely brilliant. That along with some great tech made for a truly immersive experience. This is not an easy game by any means. It's not a scavenger hunt and my gf and I struggled during a few parts and had to ask for clues. What I liked was that with a little nudging we were able to figure it out. The solutions weren't huge leaps of faith that would be impossible to solve without being given the answer. The BEST!!!! My family frequently does escape rooms as a family bonding activity. While Maze Rooms franchises are always excellent quality, this location is particularly great. There is plenty of parking and it’s easy to get to even at rush hour. The rooms are creative and engaging, not too easy, but not harder than their advertised ratings. We did Dragon’s Lair, super fun 3.5 stars and good for all expertise levels. We also did They’re Coming, which OMG was AMAZING 5 stars!!!! Very difficult, and several times my family was totally at a loss, but we still managed to figure it out. If you frequently do escape rooms, this will be your sweet spot. There’s a twist to They’re Coming that I won’t spoil, but we totally didn’t see it coming and it was delightful.

Special shout out to our Game Master for both days, Brook. She was totally awesome as just a general entryway employee, but her interactive parts in They’re Coming was baller too. She deserves all the tips.

I visited an escape room for the very first time, and my experience was absolutely amazing! 🤩 From the moment you walk in, you’re already immersed in this magical, ever-changing atmosphere…just wow!!! I can’t even put it into words…highly recommend coming and experiencing it for yourself!🪶📚🗝️

There were four of us, and in one evening we managed to explore several escape rooms: CYBERPUNK SAMURAI, STEAMPUNK ALICE (each one so different- it’s impossible to choose a favorite, so it’s best to go to as many as your budget allows).

The decorations are top-notch! At times I even forgot to solve the puzzles just because I was so fascinated by every detail in the room ✨
