A1 Jewelry & loan — Local services in Culver City

These guys are scammers. They offered me $100 for a gold and diamond ring that I have pawned at multiple places in the US and UK for $1000. Don't trust them with your appraisals. Of course they are trying to justify themselves in the reply, but the facts stand. Other pawn shops do not offer 10% of market value. Do yourself a favor and do not visit this shop. Truthful reviews are not "malicious". Moreover, I was told a 3-month loan period, whereas in CA the law is 4 months. I recommend you go to the pawn shop in Santa Monica instead - absolutely no problem getting the amount I wanted in SM and they were professional and very transparent about their policies. For reference, see the pic of the diamond size that is called "small". Of course, I am not 100% lying. Please note how a business responds to its reviews - this tells you a lot about their character. My recent visit to A1 Jewelry and Loan for a coin appraisal turned into an unfortunate ordeal. The initial employee mishandled my MS63 1912 $5 Indian Head Gold Half Eagle PCGS *1471, dropping it and even getting it stuck between the glass cases, resorting to scraping the coin across the floor in an attempt to retrieve it. To compound the situation, the second employee I spoke with dropped it AGAIN!

This unsettling experience has raised serious doubts about the level of care given to customers' valuables at A1 Jewelry and Loan. I strongly urge potential patrons to exercise extreme caution when considering their services.

I like to wait awhile to leave a review to ensure the quality of the product. With that said, I bought my engagement/wedding ring there. I still look down at it and smile. Before coming to A1 Jewelry and Loan, I went to those big engagement ring stores that have the same ring just a slightly different look. I really wanted something unique and vintage. I was grabbing coffee down the street with one of my girl friends and we happen to walk-in just for the heck of it. The gentleman there was awesome. He wasn't pushy, was very patient, and answered all my questions. I quickly found a gorgeous vintage ring! Great price! It's so sparkly... I just love it!
