This is an incredible studio for potters and a hidden gem in the city. It's spacious, clean, well lit and has a wonderful community. It has a large area for hand building and lots of wheels, including a standing wheel. They have ample sharp/nice tools available for whatever project you're working on so you don't have to bring your own. I've been making ceramics for over a decade and have fired at various studios from Orange County to Pasadena to Santa Monica but truly love being a member of MoLA. The owner & staff are friendly and make you feel like family. The energy of all the artists there make you feel like home and everyone is excited to try new things and answer questions. It feels like a safe space to ask questions, make your art and have a solid foundation of experienced potters who jump at any opportunity to help you out... simply because they love this craft! The turn around time for getting my pieces out of the kiln is SO FAST. They have an organized glazing area with lots of test tiles on display. There is a corner of the studio with a little cozy table with a coffee machine and refrigerator so you can bring food/snacks/coffee/tea and feel like you're in a homey setting and really settle into a project and take breaks and not have to leave. Also bonus: it's air conditioned and they allow dogs! The studio is also within walking distance of lots of restaurants and coffee shops and parking is easy. This place...

Thus, providing a lot of resources for creativity ideas...
Read moreI've been a member here since the first day they opened, and it has truly improved the quality of my life. I had only taken a year of once-a-week classes before becoming a member, but being able to pop in any time I've got a free few hours allowed me to improve pretty quickly. I also took a lot of the classes they offer to learn more about all different types of ceramics. The owners (Lina and Debra) are lovely, and the whole community is a inspirational group of supportive, funny, creative people. You can see my pieces at @karynspencerceramics and follow them...
