Buyer beware, Home Depot will not accept responsibility for the actions of their employees. Last year I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator RF23M8070SR, everything seemed fine with the delivery, we checked for obvious damage but didn't find any and signed off. Later that night we noticed a long scratch on the left door only noticeable when the kitchen lights were on. I called Home Depot and was forwarded to Samsung, (that's right, Home Depot employees caused the damage but they sent me to Samsung). Samsung offered to refund $400 or replace the door. (notice how Samsung had nothing to do with the damage and is willing to help) the scratch bothered me so I chose to replace the door, big mistake. What followed was a never ending loop of poor customer service and inconvenience. Samsung put me in contact with the only authorized repair shop in South Florida, located in Pompano Beach. The repair shop doesn't schedule weekend repairs and can't give you a repair appointment window. On repair day the technician arrived, as soon as he saw the refrigerator he communicated that he was not familiar with this refrigerator. The technician replaced the door and left, later that day I noticed that the door would not close all the way. I called Samsung and explained the problem, they put me in contact with the repair shop again to schedule another appointment, I have to take time off from work again. The second repair day came, another door and more wasted time. The SAME repair technician showed up to replace the door, he actually told me that "some families didn't mind that the door didn't close all the way" yes, he said that to me. I ignored him because I just wanted the problem fixed, he finished and left. Later that night we noticed the door still didn't close right. I didn't want to deal with Samsung and the repair shop again so I took my receipt to Home Depot and spoke to a store manager, I explained the situation and she assured me that the problem would be resolved, she would make all of the necessary phone calls to Samsung, repair shop, etc, she even said that if Samsung or the repair shop didn’t resolve the problem, that "Home Depot would take care of it", I don't know what that meant, were they going to replace the whole thing?, refund the purchase?, I don't know, I left the store feeling relieved, thinking they were going to make this right, I was wrong. I eventually received a call from the repair shop, they were going to send the same technician out for a third time, they were ordering additional parts for an even more extensive repair, I explained that the original door was fine until they replaced it, they insisted on the extra parts and work so I asked them to cancel, I didn't want to waste any more time and take time off from work. I attempted to contact the Home Depot manager and I never heard from her again. Eventually I gave up, the refrigerator door sometimes needs to be pushed in to fully close, I've also adapted to how I close the refrigerator doors, first the left then the right to avoid the flap mechanism on the left door from hitting the right door when closing. Every time I push the door to properly close it I'm reminded to not buy appliances from Home Depot, also stay away from Samsung, the only "authorized" repair shop in South Florida doesn't seem to have capable repair technicians to fix newer refrigerators and can't schedule weekend repairs so if you work on weekdays and can't take time off from work you are stuck. Recently I needed a new washer and dryer, I walked by the Home Depot sales display, took a couple of pictures with my phone and drove to Brandsmart, I showed the salesperson the Home Depot adds and after some haggling and Googling I got a deal on a set of LG washer and dryer, I can't take another chance on Samsung so I went with another major brand. If you find yourself in the same situation and Samsung offers you money, take it and run, enjoy your scratch...
Read moreNov 2024 Update: mixed review. 2 months ago I came looking for my drive up order. I tried to find it on the shelf. A couple of older male staff went above & beyond to help even though it took a big effort to get down from way up on top the item I needed.
Today I go & score a good clearance sale on pavers. I load up my flatbed cart & start hauling it to the front. It's HEAVY. Not 1 time did a Home Depot employee offer to help or call for help. I get out to the parking lot & start loading 1 by 1. A undocumented immigrant runs to help. Extremely nice. I pay him $5. Moral of story - don't expect paid Home Depot employees to help. It's the friendly undocumented immigrants with a big smile, happy disposition & a willingness to work that comes to the rescue! Maybe Home Depot should be trying get them work visas & hire them!
Dear Home Depot: did you forget you also have female shoppers?! Went in to buy lawn tractor spark plug. I thought I was going have to get a step ladder from another dept to access the plug cross reference guide. It was more than 4 feet up chained to a shelf. I had to stand on tip toe & hold book up sideways & cram my neck back to see. Definitely set up for taller Male shoppers! Finally found the plug I needed! Then I see the garden gloves. Same gloves. Male version $5. Female version $7. Same glove. Hello PINK TAX!! Home Depot you failed your...
Read moreRecently the customer service level at this location is deplorable and I feel sorry to see this happens since this is my neighborhood store. FIRST: On friday June 4th I went to shop for wood fence board after asking 4 EMPLOYEES, one older gentleman told me: "nobody wants to bring it from the outside", STRIKE NUMBER 1. I had to go back THE NEXT DAY and get see if I could get someone to do some work and DO ME THE FAVOR of getting me the board...luckily the brought it inside and we were able to get it.
SECOND: on Sunday June 13th we went again to buy 2 wall lanterns for our garage entrance, no stock on the sales floor, however, we asked CLAUDIO and he told us they had 6 in stock and found then way in the top behind the net. He went to find a fork lift driver to bring it down, but he came back with: "NOBODY WANTS TO DO IT, SORRY" STRIKE NUMBER 2 I PLACED THE ORDER ONLINE, when I called back 4 hours later to tell me they dont have it where they are right there on the top stock and when I was telling the girl on the phone that they do have it, she hung up on me.
Shortly after we went to the store and GRACE SAVE THE DAY for us... Grace, Grace went above and beyond to take care of us and made it right and we walked out of the store satisfied and...
