Unfortunately, choices are very limited in this part of town, and it’s the only gym open 24/7. I often come late at night when it’s finally quieter, but there are a couple things that keep happening and aren’t being addressed:
There’s often at least one or two dudes working out shirtless the whole time. And like, it’s never the guy you want to see shirtless. So it’s just annoying. And it’s not like they’re wiping down any equipment after use, so it’s just left gross and sweaty. Never any attempt to stop this.
I frequently see a few minors, like I’d guess between ages 12 and 17, working out at like 1 or 2am. On a school night. Staff doesn’t seem bothered but it’s kind of concerning. A couple of them are usually by themselves. Not sure where the parents/guardians are or if they have a safe home to go to.
The locker room is definitely getting worse. There’s a stench now where you just hold your breath if near the toilets / sinks. Clearly nothing is getting repaired, let alone cleaned. I’m not really a planet fitness person, but I gotta hand it to them, there’s almost always someone cleaning. I don’t think I’ve ever actually witnessed anyone cleaning here. Staff is usually just sitting at one of the computers or on their phones by the front desk.
And to the 24/7 staff person who is reading these reviews and commenting “thanks for your feedback, we care blah blah blah.” You must not actually work at this location because your messages show slightly more concern than any staff member here does. And please for the love of God, don’t comment on this with a response like that. There is only evidence that conditions are getting worse, not better. So your continued promises of improvement are…I think the legal expression is something along the lines of “false claims lacking any sufficient evidence that might support such an intent.” It just makes ya’ll look worse.
Personally I will be seeking a refund, as I paid for a year in advance. Am looking for a better gym to change to. While the membership fee was a good deal I’ll admit, it doesn’t do me much good when things I supposedly am paying for simply aren’t happening. Things like a locker room sanitary enough to use, or an active staff who regularly performs tasks like cleaning and ensuring minors are here at night only when accompanied by an adult.
This gym could be pretty great if anyone cared enough and had the leadership skills to make...
Read moreI’ve been going here since the gym opened. It started out as a nice clean environment with a super friendly staff. Within the last year and a half it has completely gone downhill. The majority of the equipment is broken and stays broken for six months plus at a time. As far as cleanliness goes, I would say this is about a one out of five stars. To top it all off, my wife had an incident in the parking lot where someone followed her, and then Exposed themselves next to her and her car. When she tried to get help from and inform management of what happened , the guy behind the desk, always wears a bandanna on his head, not sure what his name is at this point, went over to tell the manager, “ John John” What had happened and they both proceeded to look at the computer and start laughing with zero concern for her safety. She called me in a panic and it took me 15 minutes to get to her and when doing so, the manager John, was just now deciding to come out and act like he was looking around the parking lot to do something. I confronted him about not helping her and he made up A bunch of excuses why they were unable to help…..”it was in the parking lot he said and they don’t own it so he couldn’t do anything to help her….Come to find out after talking to another employee, he just didn’t want to report it because it would go to corporate and look bad on him. Never mind the fact that there have been multiple break-ins and car thefts on this property and he could potentially help any future assault or thefts by attending to this problem and he chose not to do so. So John, when you’re reading this just know that we are reaching out on every platform to let everyone know about the lack of safety concerns for the patrons of this gym. You would think someone who runs a gym and wears a “Superman” tattoo on his arm would be man enough to help a woman in need, But I guess there aren’t any men left at this gym. So ladies, be very mindful when you are going here and walking to your car alone. You are on your own and do not expect any help from the staff unless Kelly or Stephen are there. And don’t even bother calling DPD,...
Read moreUpdate: I'm changing my previous review from a one-star to a three-star because 24 Hour Fitness added two additional squat stations, which cut down considerably on traffic, but I won't ever trust the men's showers.
Overcrowded and unhygienic. I'm happy this gym is in our area because we really need one, but it's not managed well. Little effort is made to manage the overcrowding and the men's bathroom is unforgivably filthy, especially the showers. If you don't have to use them, the gym may be a "3." I reported these issues to the gym several times before leaving this review. Management did not respond. You cannot even get contact with a manager at this facility.
THE MEN'S SHOWERS ARE UNFORGIVABLE Just look at the photos. Clumps of hair, pieces of gum, and leftover toiletries almost always litter the men's showers. Staff have told me they only clean them ONCE PER WEEK and it shows. A light has been broken in one of them for several months now despite several reports.
POOR HYGIENE DURING A PANDEMIC Paper towels and sanitizing spray should be readily available during the pandemic, but management frequently fails to replace them. Patrons are good about wiping down equipment when the towels are available, but they frequently run out.
THE 3 SQUAT RACKS GET HOGGED BY POWERLIFTERS
There are only 3 free-weight squat racks and they are almost always in use. I've tried going at 5:30 a.m., lunchtime, evenings, and weekends. I understand that we have few gyms in the area; so it stays busy. But, powerlifters and bodybuilders hog the racks for hours. I've literally gone into the gym, worked out for an hour, and left while the same people were on the racks the entire time. In a gym this crowded there should be a time limit on them. 20-30 minutes...
