El Rio Grande Latin Market — Attraction in Dallas

Good place to find what I need when I can't find an item at other stores. The bakery is almost always stocked and Clean, but they are a bit pricey on items. Now my only down fall is that the cashiers are not friendly ,Nor do they greet you. I just left there and as I stood in line for the few things I had. When my turn came up girl #1 at the register start stocking more bags and started a conversation with girl #2 outside of the register about how they where both hired at the same time and if they told her something...no clue anyway this continues for what felt like a minute, Until girl #2 ask do you want me to ring her up? At which she replies yeah. So she scoots over and girl number #2 rings me up never once Acknowledging me, at this point I see that her name is Laura. Took all of 2 mins to ring me up. "They still Continue to Conversate" Through it all. I paid, she hands me my Receipt and I proceed to say thank you as I grabbed my bags to leave. Never once did she say anything back. I feel like the younger generation kids just lack in customer service and hospitality. Perhaps more training for the cashiers...

Today, I visited the grocery store solely to fill water at the water station located in front of the store, near the Elotes cart run by a Hispanic woman. While I was filling my jug, the woman appeared more focused on watching me than serving her customers, making me feel uncomfortable the entire time.

When a small amount of water spilled from my jug, she loudly shouted profanity at me in public. I was shocked and appalled by her behavior. I immediately went inside to file a complaint, but was told she is an independent contractor. Regardless, this reflects poorly on the store and is unacceptable conduct for someone working directly in front of your business.

I intend to escalate this matter to corporate and will also be contacting the Dallas City Health Department. Upon closer inspection, her stand appeared filthy and unsanitary. She was not wearing gloves, and I have serious concerns about the hygiene and quality of the food being served.

I went yesterday for Mother’s Day to buy a cake and a gelatin as usual for us because we absolutely love the cakes from here, but unfortunately we had a bad experience, first when I arrive they didn’t have but maybe 10 carts (at the most) and everyone was all over the place, so when I finally got my hands on cart I went to get a cake and a gelatin mind you the cake was suppose to be TRES LECHES and it had everything BUT the TRES LECHES it was so DRY. So then we open the gelatin and I come across this, I will post the pictures smh 🤦🏻‍♀️ if you can’t tell they placed the gelatin in a clear container and then put the whipped cream with fruit ON TOP of the clear lid NOT ON THE GELATIN, and then placed an even bigger lid over that, like wth obviously something isn’t going right at the store so yes our Mothers Day experience was a BIG BUST would much rather get my money back, Never Again, pónganse las...
