The Libert Tree Mall of Danvers is bound to be forever in the shadow of it's high end neighbor the North Shore Mall...Liberty Tree, a discount mall, definitely pales in comparison. Long ago in the malls past it was more of an actual contender with plenty of stores geared to the average middle class shopper, i.e. Anne&Hope, Lechmere, Bed Bath &Beyond, Filene's Basement, Tellos, Deb, Wet Seal, etc. which have all since vacated the premises. Also many of the more popular Food Court occupants have left over time leaving some pretty slim pickings in their wake. Dunkin Donuts, Regina's Pizza, & of course MacDonalds, are all that's left in terms of the more typical fare choices people still enjoy. Within the mall itself you can find a Panera Bread & a Buffalo Wild Wings, the latter however is the receipiant of many lack-luster reviews (you can check out their reviews right here on Google as well). Unfortunately many of the more popular stores have long ago bailed, finding the competition of the renovated North Shore Mall a battle for mall goers they could never win. The mall having a mortgage to pay has since filled those vacancies with low-end retailers & discount stores like 5 and Below & Dollar Tree, etc. most of which are kind of "Here today, Gone tomorrow" types of places. The more independent anchor stores that occupy the malls perimeters are what keep people visiting, e.g. Kohls, Marshalls, Old Navy, Target, Best Buy, and the AMC movie theater among a few others; and of course the Danvers DMV which is also located within the mall. Liberty Tree is sometimes locally referred to as "The...
Read moreLiberty Tree Mall is a large shopping mall located in Danvers, Massachusetts. It is anchored by Kohl's, Total Wine & More, AMC Theatres, Marshalls, Old Navy, and Best Buy. The mall has over 100 stores and restaurants, making it a popular destination for shoppers from all over the North Shore.
I have been shopping at Liberty Tree Mall for decades, and I have always had a positive experience. The mall is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of stores to choose from, and I always find what I am looking for. I also enjoy the food court, which has a variety of options to choose from.
One of the things that I love about Liberty Tree Mall is the secret tunnels underneath. These tunnels were built in the 1970s to connect the different parts of the mall. They're now closed to the public, but you can still explore them if you know where to look. I've heard rumors that the tunnels are home to a group of C.H.U.D.s (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers). I've never seen any C.H.U.D.s myself, but I do bring a flashlight with me whenever I go exploring in the tunnels.
Overall, I highly recommend Liberty Tree Mall. It is a great place to shop, eat, and be entertained. I am sure you will have a positive...
Read moreLiberty Tree has really declined in the last few years, and besides the big anchors like Best Buy, Kohls, Target, and the theater,, it's seen a rapid decline in quality of the rest of the stores.
It's basically an eclectic mix if stores with no real direction. Originally I think the intention was to make Liberty tree more into an entertainment mall, but that seems to have been abandoned in the pursuit of tenants for spaces at any cost.
The only real reason to go is if you need something from one of the bigger stores. I mean, there isn't even a McDonalds at the food court anymore. If McDonalds is saying "nah man, we're out of here", it can only mean bad things moving forward. Add to it that many of the stores like Best Buy and Target are either on the outskirts for not actually connected internally to the mall itself, and there's even less reason to walk through abandoned spaces and low rent massage shops, paddle boat showrooms, etc.
Honestly just drive to the store you need in-question, and ignore the...
