Love AMC...went to see Godzilla recently with my son and unfortunately I had a VERY hard time hearing some parts where people were talking. It seemed to drop in volume for some reason and I remembered that happened the previous time I went to see a Russell Crow movie (the name escapes me, he played a stalker guy). The next movie I went to see was Mortal Combat & while I was checking in... I get the Premium Stubs membership for $15 yr & it's well worth it even if you only go to the movies once a month or even every other month!... I asked the ticket checker about the sound and explained that I'm hard of hearing & although I do wear hearing aids, I still had a problem the last 2 times I went and I NEVER had this issue pre closedown. They offer an assisted listing device that syncs the sound to a headset. They give you the device programed to your movie, with a "disposable" head set (like they used to give on airplanes lol, forever ago!) and it REALLY amplifies the sound to your headset. And you can adjust the volume on the device as well, which is nice. It helped out so much that I asked for it again when I went to see The Conjuring 3 The Devil Made Me Do It. And I definitely needed them because there are times the sound drops low in that movie as well. The only problem I had the last time I went was that the popcorn was not very good. It was dry, and almost cold. It was like they made it WAYYY too far ahead and it sat under the heat lights for far too long. I should have returned it, but when I ordered it I did notice the WHOLE popcorn machine shelf under the warmer lights were FULL with pre made popcorn do I figured it'd all be the same, and that's a total bummer. The best part of GOING to the movie is the popcorn & fountain soda. I'm hoping it was just a one time thing, but if it happens again, I'll definitely ask for a freshly made one, it's a little too expensive to throw half the container out because they wanted to make it too far ahead. It wasn't a busy time. I do recommend that if you have a hearing problem, let them know you'd like the assisted listening device and give it a try! It was definitely a big help for me and made a...
Read morethe manager named Andrea who was working on 8/19/18 did nothing to resolve an issue with a person who had their phone going off throughout the whole movie. my pregnant wife and I , along with my sister in law and brother in law were very upset on how she handled the situation, she was not by any means a good manager. she did not try to resolve the issue ,she only proceeded to tell me to leave as soon as the movie was over. personally I believe she should have handled that in a better way as a manager should !! she should not be a manager if she handles those situations in that matter . she was very cocky and proceeded to raise her voice also, not at all what a manager should do to paying customers!! Andrea is by far the worst manager I have met in any place I have gone to . I just thought people should know that if you have any issues there Andrea will NOT resolve anything! one last thing , when I called there this afternoon on my lunch break to get her name to write this review and tell her that we were very upset , her only remarks were that I raised my voice and that she looks forward to reading the review. now I am not a manager but a good manager would not look forward to reading a bad review from paying customers . she is definitely very cocky and a horrible manager !!!! I was also contacted by the Dartmouth police about a half hour after I called to find out her name to write this review! now she is making false claims that I called three times and threatened her and her employees ! I have my phone records to prove that I called her one time at exactly 1220pm on 8/20/18 and she is the person who answered the phone ! no manager should be making these accusations when they are false ! corporate offices should really look into this and have her...
Read moreI had to drive to Framingham to see "They Shall not Grow Old". It is a travesty that they are not showing it in Dartmouth. This movie commemorates the 100 year anniversary of the end of WWI and would probably be of interest to veterans. I guess it's not important enough to show in Dartmouth! It's a great deal, but they don't show numerous mainstream movies. Through AMC A-List you can see up to three movies a week for only $23.95 a month (AMC A-List is only $19.95 in most other states). They also have $5 ticket Tuesdays. There are large reclining seats and reserved seating either online or at the theater. It's very clean and there's hardly ever a line. The staff is very nice. Unfortunately they advertise many movies that are only shown in theaters near Boston over an hour's drive away. Greenbook and The Favorite were out for nearly two months before they finally came to Dartmouth with limited showings. They did not show Mary Queen of Scotts or Welcome to Marwin which they advertised and were shown in the Boston area (but they brought back Ralph Breaks the Internet ÂŻ(ă)/ÂŻ). They advertised They Shall not Grow Old (playing in standard and 3D in Boston), but haven't played that either. They usually also play the same exact movies as Braintree which is the next closest location. Less popular movies deserve at least some showtimes to give people a chance to see them. I don't care about a new children's movie or CGI contrivance, and I will not watch some violent horror flick. I think it's only fair that the Dartmouth area have at least some opportunities to see AMC movies that are playing in other locations. Even though the price has gone up for us MA residents it's still a pretty good deal, I just wish they'd play the movies they advertise in...
