I am amazed how this place runs. They gave us the wrong pizza, and then after we were done, they served our mozzarella sticks. The pizza came out cold, but the sauce and cheese were hot. That's because the bread was already made, and they just threw the toppings on top. Then the mozzarella sticks came wow, the oil they fried it in clearly needed to be changed. I honestly wasn't upset about all of that because Im a restaurant manager myself, and the food was okay... Now comes the good part. I kindly asked the round blonde server "Oh you guys are new here." She proceeded to say "No we have been here for a little over a year. I then very kindly told her hey, as a restaurant manager myself, it's okay that mistakes happen. I then told her that we left the mozzarella sticks in the box with only two bites taken because the amount of grease and the darkness of the mozzarella sticks were not going to sit well in my stomach, then she said "yes I see that and it is going to be changed tonight probably." THEN she asked what restaurant I work at, and I told her where I worked with no hesitation. After I told her where I worked, she said, "OH NOW THAT S* IS NASTY AND YOUR COMPLAINING ABOUT MY FOOD!" Read moreI'm vegan, which is why I go there; they have vegan pizza, which I had the first two times I went, and which I ordered tonight; however, when it came out and I took a bite, it didn't taste right. When I called the server over and asked if the pizza was vegan, she said no, vegetarian. I told her I ordered the vegan pizza, and she told me they don't have vegan pizza, that she knows it's on the menu but she doesn't know why, that it's not even on the computer.
When I told her that I've had it there in the past and they definitely have it, she said to let her go see and disappeared for about five minutes. I could see her talking to various people, yet not one came over to say anything, so I'm guessing no manager was there (or at least I hope no manager was there, because that would be insane).
While she was gone, I told my sister I didn't want to order a new pizza since the Detroit style takes so long to make and we'd already waited for the first one, but when our server came back, she told us a new pizza was coming, assured us it wouldn't take long, and unprompted said she was comping (my word, not hers) part of our check.
Spoiler alert: The pizza did, in fact, take long. And that discount? Two dollars.
tldr: Went out for a quick pizza on a Friday night, ended up in a restaurant for over two hours, was served food that goes against my ethics and morals, and received two dollars compensation...
Read moreUPDATED REWIEW We went again yesterday. Lani should do the training for all the staff. She wasn't there yesterday and that was extremely unfortunate.
1st time coming after someone recommended it. I have to admit at 1st we weren't sure if we were going to stay because my niece wanted a cheese pizza slice and we were told that after 3pm (although they stay up until 2am) they don't make pizza new pies for the slices. We thought that was super weird considering the time and I am sure more people would come in to purchase, but nonetheless we made other food choices. We ordered- Lasagna, Chicken Parm, and Chicken Alfredo. Everything was delicious. Great portions for the price. Also had gelato for desserts.
The best was our waitress Lani. She was extremely helpful, patient (we had 2 kids in the table), attentive, helped decide on food selections, showed us how the self poured bar worked, and allowed us to try different flavors for the gelato. She was VERY welcoming and I love that when going to new places. We will definitely be coming back to try the pizza and salads because they both looked amazing and because of the service we received. So many places nowadays have HORRIBLE service, so when we find places that have good service we come back. It is also convient for us because we are always in that area...
