On June 22, 2020 I went in to this store looking to price out and see if I could afford new appliances along with a new dryer that I absolutely had to purchase. As I entered noticed a ton of sales people milling about all without any masks to keep their customers safe. I headed over to the appliance section to look at the products I viewed online. I was approached by a man, Junaid “JR” Umer, who as I was explaining my situation cut me off and told me he’s got a great price. Followed the gentlemen to the counter and awaited this information, it was a great price, so I decided to move forward. I confirmed the final price was including taxes, delivery, etc. because who likes surprise additions to their bill. I also confirmed the delivery date multiple times to make certain of it because I’d be taking time off of work to be home floor the delivery. JR said it would be coming from two different factories and confirmed the date.
Delivery day was fast approaching so the night before I made sure to unhook all my appliances so the delivery guys could get them out easily and not take too much of their time. They were fast and professional however, they only had half of my order (fridge, dryer) and the fridge was missing a set screw for the freezer handle. The delivery guys had no information on the rest of the order and said I’d have to contact the store but they’d be back with the screw for the freezer drawer. A couple hours went by and no one returned, so I called the store to talk about the missing appliances and the missing part to the ones that were delivered. I was told that I’d have to wait to speak to my sales associate because the store manager had no idea. The woman I spoke with also laughed and said that no one was coming back out, “and really a part like that, you should just go to a hardware store and get it”. But I thought I purchased whole appliances that I wouldn’t have to repair on day one?
The following week I was able to finally speak to a district or regional manager, Rob, who seemed disappointed in my experience and genuine in wanting to resolve it. He was able to work with my schedule and set another delivery up for the remainder items and to have the missing part sent via mail while also refunding me $100 for my trouble. The second delivery never showed up during the time it was supposed to because the delivery guy, Matt, lied to his boss saying he called twice to attempt delivery and I declined...false. Through threatening disciplinary action Matt did finally come back up around 630/7 pm that evening with the items and get them in.
A few days later the missing fridge parts came, wrong screw and an Allen wrench. So from my original purchase on 6/22/20 to today, 7/15/20, I still have not received everything I purchased.
I will never shop with ABC Warehouse again and would never recommend this option to anyone. In retrospect I would have loved to pay a bit more to be respected by a sales associate and receive the items I purchased on the day that was committed and...
Read moreI would not recommend this store to my worst enemy. I had an absolutely terrible experience at this location.
I visited the Dearborn location on January 20th to purchase a washer and dryer for my condo in Detroit. I settled on a Whirpool washer and dryer, stacked units.
January 25th - I took work off to receive the units, only to find that only the washer could be delivered, due to a damaged dryer. The delivery men told me that somebody would be back the following day with a non-damaged unit.
January 26th - I took work off AGAIN to receive the unit - the dryer, only to have to turn it away on delivery due to extreme damage to the unit. It was also discovered that I needed a 6 ft. dryer cord vs. the 4 ft. cord that was previously provided. The delivery men told me that a new unit would be arriving the following day. This cord discovery should have been identified from the very beginning. After all, they were the ones that needed to complete the install.
January 27th - While waiting for the unit, I received a phone call telling me that the unit prepped for delivery, was of course, damaged. I had to reschedule the delivery as I was leaving out of country for a week. I scheduled the delivery for Saturday, February 3rd. I was still going to be out of country, but I asked my father to be available and take delivery.
I made the store manager aware of the situation, and pleaded with him to make it right multiple times throughout this process.
February 3rd - While on vacation, I received a call from the delivery person, saying that they were about 40 minutes out. Concerned about the condition of the dryer, I asked if it was in good shape, and the driver said yes. I also asked about the dryer cord to ensure that there would be no issues upon arrival. The driver had not been made aware of the cord at all. (I had spoken with the store manager who claimed that everybody was aware of the cord requirements delivering the unit) The delivery men dropped the unit, stacked it on top of the washer, and left it in the middle of my house without installing it. I made calls to the store manager, Whebe, who told me that he was going to handle it (I had heard this multiple times before). He put my father in contact with an independent contractor to complete the install, who said he would be available to complete the install between 5 to 7 PM. My father waited around all day, and when 5 to 7 came around, the contractor not only ignored my father's calls, he turned off his phone.
February 4th - After having an uninstalled appliance in the middle of my house for almost two weeks, I went out and bought the cord on my own, and completed the install on my own, successfully - even though I paid them for installation.
Please be wary when shopping...
Read moreMy second salesman, Tony, saved this from 1 star. He was really great and made the purchase of my new refrigerator painless and comfortable.
Delivery and service from that point on however, AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! I was pumped to get this big new French door in my kitchen. Crew arrived and opened up the fridge to find the inside had completely shattered in transit.... They passed the blame predictably. I catch grief all day at my job and understand things happen so I didn't give them a hard time even though I was frustrated. They rescheduled another delivery and would bring a whole new unit. Shortly after, the store called. I figured I'd ask for a break on price, at least delivery charges, but the situation was swept under the rug saying I had "already got a good deal." Seriously? They said they actually were doing me a FAVOR by rescheduling my delivery for the next day. Whatever. The second attempt, same guys. They unwrapped it and guess what? Glass and more glass everywhere. Now it was Friday and had to wait until Tuesday to work around THEIR schedule. Meanwhile I have food in coolers and sitting outside as the weather warms up, probably spoiling at this point. Tuesday comes, I get a voicemail while I was at work, four hours BEFORE the earliest time I said I'd be available, saying they were minutes away. I call back, no answer. Risking another day without refrigeration I had my girlfriend rush to to let them in. When I got home it was still in pieces and there was a nice ding and scuff on the side and a top corner was also visibly damaged. This was not a cheap fridge and I expect it to look that way. I could've gone to an outlet for a damaged fridge for $500 less than what I paid! Terrible service. Tony I wish you the best. I would find a more reputable...
