Customer Service 0 Quality of paultry 0 Quality of produce 0 Today was the one experience that made me say I’m writing a review! My family and i have always been one of papayas top supporters/customer. And I’m sure every one else it this community shops and supports local. Very undeserving market, very rude and disrespectful staff and manager (Mohamad beydoun) I bought a few things early today one of those items being a glass jar of jam, in which this item broke since it wasn’t properly double bagged. Anyway. I stood in line respectfully to exchange it with the receipt like you would at any other store or grocery store. When I got to the cashier I respectfully and nicely told the girl what had happened. She said she’s gonna call the manager. She came back and said there’s nothing we can do since it didn’t happen in the store. I said ok call him so I can talk to him. (I’ve never heard of any store that lacks with customer service like papaya does) she comes back very dry with her back turned basically told me ur all set (so basically to take the new jar I had brought up and go) I said ok any why am I being given a hard time any other store like Kroger, target or home goods or any other store will gladly replace or exchange the damaged item or rotten item etc, and I walked away. I’m walking to my vehicle and put my toddler in his car seat. As I’m going around to go to my door a man (the manager Mohamad beydoun) comes out like he’s about to beat me up! Yes like as if he’s about ready to fist fight me! Saying “what is there a problem what’s going on what what?!” That is when i got furious and told him excuse me 1st of all come talk to my by my truck Bcz I’m not leaving my son in the car alone. Second of all, this is how you talk to a woman? This is the kind of respect you show? Is this how Allah swt tell you to speak to a woman? Instead of kindly saying how can I help you etc. this is how you come out and talk to me? That’s when I got loud and so extremely upset! yes I was so furious at that point bcz he came out not only yelling at me! But basically like came to attack me. This is the kind of way to treat loyal customers? You know what he said. 3melte kil hal 3amli for that? I said no I’m yelling and I’m furious because of the way you came out yelling and me and charged at me like you were gonna beat me up! He said allay semhek, I told him yeah allay semehne allah swt knows everything! But Nothing upset me more than the way he came out and the very rude and disrespectful way he spoke to me. No woman and no customer should have to go through that. What’s going on Papaya? On top of already playing people out with your rotted chicken. Which many many people I know have said I took the chicken home and it smelled funky. And have the nerve to Rudely say that it’s not. It is haram to sell people rotted or expired food! You need better customer service and better quality food! 2 years ago at the heights papaya I got chicken off the shelf. Biggest mistake. Long story short there was a sticker under a sticker with the expiration date of a week before I purchased date! These ppl are sellling chicken from last week and putting new stickers on the bottom covering the old sticker. I scratched it off and couldn’t believe my eyes! Seeing last weeks date of expiration. Myself and others can differentiate the bad chicken from fresh chicken. And when the cashiers are trained to say that it’s not rotten or are not complying to help you. That’s when your gonna start losing customers. I’m calling the FDA maybe that will turn things for the better. And I’m gonna get more ppl to speak up about their...

The grocery store has a large selection of vegetables and fruits at decent prices for those on budget. It is mostly clean and organized. Service is below par and certainly need huge improvement with hands-on training emphasizing customer satisfaction. The problem resides with those inexperienced cashiers who argue the sale prices either because they are uninformed or ignorant of the discounted prices published under their weekly sale. Those cashiers won’t even bother to walk down the aisle to check the advertised price when questioned of the rung-up price. They even argue and show an unnecessary attitude when asked to correct the price. I personally recommend watching every charge on the register’s screen as they ring it up as well as reviewing the receipt...

We always come from Grand Rapids Michigan and we always shop from here. They have really good stuff. Yes it's not the best but I think they're doing really good. The bathrooms are not as good but they're fine. (I won't want to use them) Everyone there is very helpful and the only thing that I don't like is that its not well organized but I really understand because it's not a big place but they're doing a really good job. That's why I gave 4 star. But we will for sure be back because we always like the stuff that you guys have is just that you can do some fixing on maybe getting. A bigger place or fixing the bathroom. But I just want to thank you everyone there you're doing amazing service was great every one is trying their best and I really...

Not once or twice multiple times I’ve bought chicken from papaya and every single time it’s expired. Yesterday I bought chicken breasts and the date says 6/11/24 but to my surprise of course the chicken was expired, as soon as I opened the package a strong sour smell hit me, it was disgusting. Their labels are wrong and they know that. Save your selves the trouble and food poisoning and do not purchase chicken and honestly I wouldn’t trust the meat too.

We purchased three of these products on the same day. Upon opening them, we discovered that all three were expired and had visible mold. When we contacted customer service to address the issue, the experience was extremely disappointing — the representatives were unhelpful and provided no resolution. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience and a clear sign of poor quality control and customer support.

I had a really disappointing experience at the Papaya Fruit Store in Dearborn. I bought a watermelon from there, and when I got home and cut it open, it was completely spoiled—soft, mushy, and smelled off. Clearly not fresh at all. For a place that specializes in fruit, you’d expect better quality control. Definitely not going back anytime soon.
