I try to buy the items which are marked down (look for the color codes on the tag based on the sign hanging from the ceiling). I purchased several great items. The only reason I gave 4 stars is b/c the clothes are so tight on the rack in several spots that it's difficult to get a good look without having to take the shirt/pants completely off the rack. They need to have a big "Sale". It would make them some money fast and we could get some great deals; giving a win/win and give more room to push the clothes around on the rack. Maybe someone from America's Thrift Store reads these reviews and decides to have the big sale. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They kept things neat by putting everything back in its place as I shopped. I've been to the America's Thrift Store in Gadsden and Roebuck also. I'll have to re-visit Decatur one more time before I can state any differences at this time. The store and items which I looked at were very clean. There was a restroom inside the store. There are no dressings rooms. They accept returns (in store credit only) within 30 days with tag-intact and receipt (for most items I'm assuming). The other pros are: easy check-out, checks/cards accepted, nice shopping hours and open Sunday also; 1-6. Overall, this was a fantastic place. Thanks and I'll visit...
Read moreThis place used to be one of my favorite stores but for the past few years it just keeps getting worse on prices especially this last year (before the inflation thing started) I mean seriously a wore out name brand shirt with holes in it and the Nike symbol almost worn off with stains on it or snags all over it for $6.99 That's ridiculous!!!! So you can imagine if it's in fair or good condition then we're talking $10 to $12 Then they have placemats that are used (because it's a thrift store) for $3.99 each REALLY!!! We can go next door to the dollar tree and get the whole set for $4 brand new $1 each and can pick from what design we want Some of the workers are very rude, mostly the ones in charge It's a thrift store people You have lots of business Quit price gauging junk Oh yeah this one really gets me some things are new in packaging and the original price from where it was purchased is still on it and they charge more than the original price Come on folks I really love the store but whoever took over the pricing has ruined it for the poor folks or the smart folks that...
Read moreI gave this thrift store three stars because it is in my top 3 favorite thrift stores, however you cannot try the clothes on in store so if they do not fit and you go to return them you can only return them for store credit which is only been a slight issue in the past. That being said DO NOT buy the Halloween costume wigs unless you take it out of the package and try it on in the store and are satisfied with the way it looks. My daughter and I bought one for her Halloween costume it looked absolutely nothing like the picture and was horrible so I went to return it for store credit and was told that it was not a “clothing” item and could not be returned, to which there are no signs or mention of this by any of the store associates so who knew right? This horrible wig cost me eight dollars and I literally threw eight dollars away. It blows my mind that this item was not returnable for the simple fact that they sell used bras and underwear and those are returnable but you cannot return a BRAND NEW wig. Very unhappy about this particular exchange...
