Glenlake Dog Park — Attraction in Decatur

Nice little dog park Tucked away in the heart of Decatur. Follow your Google Maps directions. They will get you there. The only reason I’m not giving this place five stars because there’s only one dog park. As opposed to the ones in Piedmont Park, where they have a small breed dog park and a large breed dog park. There are plenty of benches and it’s big enough for several dogs at one time. I guess depending on the time of day and the day week will dictate traffic. i’m really glad I found this place. Beautiful place, but parents should respect other kids playing and should keep their eyes on their kids actions, i have 17 months old baby, and i face such a heartbreaking scene here. Some parents let their kids push, hit fight my baby, and they just watch them rather stoping them and teach them manners. And when i try to save my baby, they want to come to arguments. This is a very young age to let them learn fights, and it can lead to racism. Please parents respect all children. Sunny Fall Sunday. Glad packed water because the park has NO WATER. No dog course training amenities (bars, stairs, tunnels). Single small pen for all dog sizes. Pine trees, pine needles, pine cones. No grass. Plenty of benches. Easy access from paved parking lot. Hidden gravel park entrance way off main road. (Thank goodness Google had correct driving directions).
