Super 8 by Wyndham Decatur/Dntn/Atlanta Area — Hotel in Decatur

If I could give NEGATIVE 10 stars I would!! Horrible place DO NOT STAY HERE!! I was staying here because my dad is in ICU. We wanted to be as close as possible since we live in conyers. Night one was fine, room was nothing special but after sleeping in the ICU waiting room it was a welcomed change. Night two we decided to “upgrade” to a jacuzzi room so we could rest our achy muscles from sitting in waiting room chairs all day...BIG MISTAKE...the room was TINY and no where as roomy as the first night but ok we’re positive, bright side kind of people so we went with it. After using the tub for maybe 30 mins we went to turn it off and shower, well here is where the DRAMA started..the tub would not cut off. It had a loud and obnoxious sound that would drive any sane person MAD...We tried “troubleshooting” it ourselves before calling the front desk. The guy was NASTY so much so I hung up the phone and made the trek to the front desk in my pajamas in the RAIN! I asked the guy to either A) come fix it so we could go to bed or B)switch our room so we could get some sleep as it was now past 2am...well the response of the idiot working the desk was “I (a female) could fix it OR he could/would call the cops...now let me be VERY clear I did not curse or threaten this man in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM to warrant him to threaten me with calling the cops...but it is in my STRONG opinion he thought because of the color of my skin he was going to “scare” me with the thought of cops. Well I did one better I CALLED THE COPS because I paid my Money for a room with functioning amenities and to be threatened with cops as if I had done anything wrong was absurd! I have NEVER been so disgusted and I will be filing a BBB complaint, reversing charges and reporting them to the super 8 franchise headquarters since I had to pack my stuff up and find a new hotel at 230am(I did call the cops to get record of the incident but since it was deemed a “civil matter” all I have is video of the conversation between the cops and I) Imagine dealing with ALL This unnecessary DRAMA while having a ailing father in ICU. DISGUSTING! thank god we found a wonderful room w/living room & floors you can feel comfortable walking on without socks or shoes just 5 mins down the road at the holiday inn express AND for LESS MONEY. I will never patronize another super 8 Nor will I ever spend another dollar with the Patel’s of Decatur. Do yourself a favor & spend your money somewhere other than this broke down, busted and disgusted sham of a establishment!! P.S I rarely EVER write reviews(maybe written a total of 5) but this deserved memorializing for all to know JUST HOW CRAPPY THIS PLACE WAS & IS!!! Shame on...

ROACHES!!!

All I can say is never again!!! I came to Decatur from out of town to attend beer fest with a few friends. On the beer fest website it listed 2 hotels for lodging...Super 8 being one of them. After a 6 hour drive to Decatur I arrived at around 11 and asked for early check-in which was not available so soon. I asked if I could go ahead and pay for the room and just sit in my car...being that I just drove from NC. The front desk said it was fine, and even gave me the key but asked me not to enter until 1pm. No problem. Beer fest started at noon so I left my car at the hotel and went to the festival. I returned around 6pm. First of all, as soon as I opened the door, the smell of cigarette smoke was RIDICULOUS! I do not smoke, but it is a motel so I could deal with it for one night. A few hours later I went to the bathroom and what do I see crawling up the wall? A roach! Not an outside water bug...a nasty household roach. And as they say, where there is one, there are MANY. So after I freak out and nearly break my ankle trying to kill it I call the front desk to report it. Their response to me???? "Do you want to come to the front desk and get some spray?" Wait...what???? I just told them their establishment has roaches and they have a can of spray for my troubles???? After arguing I ask for my $107.00 back so I can go to a different establishment. At this point I have only been in the room for 4 1/2 hours, including the time I spent arguing. Their response" Sorry ma'am but you checked in at 11 and we can not refund your money." Even though you told me not to enter the room till 1? And I told you I was here for a festival that started at noon before I had access to the room? And you are well aware that the first time I entered the room was a few hours ago???? Yes!!!! So...as I am packing my stuff up to leave (because I am not sleeping with roaches) The front desk clerk comes with a bottle of roach spray, sprays the bathroom and picks up the roach I killed. 5 minutes later I checked out and took a very LONG drive back to NC, with no sleep! I have never in my life experienced such ridiculousness and I will NEVER stay at a super 8 again. Wyndham should...

This is the most horrible place I've ever rented a room from the staff is very rude starting at the front desk the rooms are very much so overpriced I was charged $150 for a standard room that I got on Wyndham rewards for $50 cheaper but the front desk try to charge me a extra $50 the night staff told me to go in my non-smoking room that I couldn't smoke cigarettes in but I smoke cigarettes so I was outside smoking and she told me to go in my room and go to sleep or she was calling the police on me you do not want to stay here this place is terrible I would not recommend this I will not leave my dog there they talk to you any kind of way very rude very disrespectful online right now it says the rooms are $84 when you get to the front desk they will charge you $150 it just depends on how they feel for the day overall they get a f not a good stay not comfortable at all they are money hungry and will overcharge you without a doubt just packed all of my things and left in the middle of the night because the staff is very rude how do you tell somebody that is 43 years of age to go in a room and go to sleep because I was standing outside smoking a cigarette and all of the rooms are non-smoking terrible terrible terrible definitely have bed bugs Samir dead bugs on the ceiling staff for cleaning was nice front desk person was terrible in the daytime and in the night time front desk staff was angry cursed me out yelled at me because I found a better deal do when the rewards cuz I am a diamond member by Wyndham I was yelled at cursed out and talked to very rudely because I went through this window site and got a discount instead of paying what they was asking for me to pay at the front desk he did Apologize the next day when he still overcharged me over $100 for a standard two bedroom room overall you do not ever want to stay at this place all the stores and everything around it is convenient but the actual stay at that property at this location it's not...
