We have spent so much money here, but the way I was treated on 5/27/24 by Cashier Kathryn makes me sick to my stomach and not want to go back. She is mean!!!!!!!! We were at the store 3 minutes after 8pm (closing) and she was simply nasty when I was explaining by husband was sent to the wrong area(by a garden employee) to get mulch from the yard. This garden employee didn't offer to help, just sent my husband in the wrong direction making us late to check out! Not to mention we tried buying paint but another employee couldn't figure how to make it(it was special order), had a pickup to do, (EVERYTHING TOOK FOREVER). I didn't want to hold up employees, I have a 24 month and 6 month old, I wanted to go home too!!!!! Kathryn started giving me a nasty look when I was apologizing for being late at the register and about being sent wrong way for mulch. She said we had 3 MINUTES LEFT BEFORE CLOSE???? defending the employee saying she didn't know where mulch was either, just because he works in garden doesn't mean he knows where mulch was. I advised the employee could have offered more help. I told her she is talking to the wrong person the way she was. She called the manager over to take over, but when manager came over, she wouldn't leave. She literally stood there when I was talking to her and giving my husband and I the MOST EVIL GLARE!!! it was sickening. I told the manager to look at her face!!! I told him (manager) that I spent more here in the last year than her salary(not to be mean but to express that customers like I are more important than a cappy employee driving customers away). Needless to day Kathryn was giving me the most evil glare at the cashier.and 2 days later I still gave the knots in my stomach. It was disgusting for an employee to treat a customer that way for being a little but late to register. We are in the process of getting plans to have a pole built with Kurt in the materials dept but now feel we may need to take our business elsewhere if this employee is not handled/fired....
Read moreAfter I spent 10 minutes looking for an item to no avail I decided to find an employee for some assistance. I came across a group of four employees having a rather inappropriate conversation and politely asked if they could point me in the right direction. Three of them we’re clueless but the fourth who was as pleasant as a rattlesnake simply pointed down an isle saying go that way it should be by the end then turned and continued with their conversation. I was a slightly annoyed by the lack of customer service but it was the last item I needed so I went to checkout. I purchased around $600 worth of building supplies and as I was leaving the store asset protection stopped me and accused me of stealing a $12 dollar pair of reading glasses I’d been using to read labels since I had forgotten mine. I understand this is their job and as a former police officer I’ve handled plenty of calls for retail theft and if he had conducted himself properly it wouldn’t have been an issue. But instead he decided to be rude, arrogant and condescending letting his little plastic asset protection id inflate his ego. After a brief argument that continued even after I made it obviously clear I hadn’t taken anything he finally realized it was time to shut his mouth and walk away, I was so annoyed by the overall experience I nearly returned everything...
Read moreIt is my unfortunate duty to report that the warranties offered by this establishment are a clear and blatant case of deceptive marketing. Regrettably, the product I purchased was found to be defective due to a manufacturing issue, rendering it inoperable. Despite having purchased a warranty, the establishment in question refused to honor their commitment and provide the necessary recourse, citing the unavailability of the product in question.
This grossly unfair treatment was not a one-off occurrence, as a subsequent purchase of a chainsaw also proved to be similarly problematic. In this instance, the chainsaw failed to start even after an employee's intervention, yet the establishment was once again reluctant to provide the promised refund. It was only through persistent and arduous negotiation that I was able to secure the due compensation for both incidents.
