Floor & Decor — Attraction in Denton

I've been to this store many times. The last time I was in there was sometime in 2022. I had a decent experience at that time. I'm currently building a new home and am in need of a LOT OF FLOORING, (approximately 3000 square feet) among other things (bathroom floor tile, kitchen back splash. The list goes on). My wife recently had surgery, she can't walk much. I called ahead to the Denton store and inquired if there was a handicap shopping cart available that she could use at the store because her mobility is very limited right now. The person who answered the phone told me that there's a cart available. I took him at his word, and my wife and I drove 60 miles to the store. When we got to the store there weren't a lot of people there. We walked into the store, and there was a handicap cart parked right next to the door. My wife started to sit on it, and an employee approached us and told us that the cart didn't work and hadn't for quite some time. She also told us that there's another cart, but one of their other employees had injured his ankle and needed the cart to do his job. I escorted my wife back to the car. I went back into the store thinking that I could get some flooring samples so we could make some decisions. I walked around in the store for a long time looking at flooring. I never found any samples. I walked around looking for an employee to help me. Everyone that I found was either preoccupied or on their phone. I got very frustrated and decided to leave. I debated on whether or not to leave this review and decided to go ahead and do it. In the past I had a good experience at this store. I left and went to another store to spend my money. Back in November my husband and I came in to buy our wood flooring and also found a great deal on our bathroom tile. Danny Romero helped us out tremendously. Your store was completely out of one of the products we needed. But he located enough at the Plano location, and spoke to them on our behalf securing the sale price for us. He was extremely helpful, kind, and seemed to genuinely care about us in our experience with Floor and Decor. Fast forward to January, we came back in to finish selecting the tile for the rest of our new-build home. Derek Simmons, was our Design Consultant. He. Is. Fantastic!!!! He’s helpful in every way. He’s careful not to dissuade a person’s particular taste or style, but he’s also very good at helping clients talk through and envision a room, while asking all the right questions. Without his gift of design and knowledge of the entire store’s product, I never could have so efficiently and confidently selected such an overwhelming amount of tile/backsplash. My home is going to be magazine worthy when we complete it, thanks to Derek. Everyone at the Denton location has been kind, cheerful, & helpful. I can’t say the same for the Plano location.
