Will be returning for future events here! As a gig worker, I got to go a bit behind the scenes of Brick Fest Live. (Meant to post this review when you were here!)
One of the coolest art exhibition events I've ever seen or worked for (MeowWolf being another).
Let the images speak for themselves, on the genuine efforts of creative innovation!
As this was hosted at the national western complex, I appreciate the event center for allowing that to occur. As a worker and as a genuine LEGO enthusiast, this was just so much fun that it's really an insult to call it a "job" and really a whole experience of happiness!!!
After event, it's clear that OPS knows how handle cleanup and takedown/breakdown of property, which my background in inventory management jobs REALLY vibes with! So on the logistics side, event staff for Brick Fest and the event center have great leadership teams, that give a great experience to the consumer side of this. Working in the most productive way possible from what I witnessed.
Balance of that is hard, and I've seen that at somewhere like MeowWolf where OPS stress the workers and workers make the event or sensory experience less enjoyable to the people spending money and going with family, to enjoy!

Read moreThis was our first time to go to the Denver county Fair with our 2yo daughter. We went along with 3 other couples with kids in same class as ours. Firstly, the weather was bad with thunderstorms and heavy rain- so that didn't go in their favor. The directions to parking are accurate; but its out under the bridge for I-70. and it was $10 - that's ridiculous. Its a 5 mins walk to the fair site. The ticket counters are plenty but quite disorganized. The prices were a little over the top. We decided to stay indoors because of weather. The restrooms are ok, kinda smelly.
First thing that hits you is the smell or the heat or the feeling of being in a disorganized flea market. Summer is a bad time to have such a thing indoors. Our kids loved the bouncy castles- but seemingly there is a limit on number of kids in certain ones. There are mini-horse rides, goats, chicks, ducklings, birds; bunnies- all for sale as well as viewing in cages. I kind of felt sad for them since they were just stuck in there and it seems like their owners just filled up their food and water bowls and took off. The mini horses, goats had caretakers with them though. Food choices are scarce, quality is meh.
Only positive, all our kids were pooped out after being their...
Read moreMost awful experience of my life. I had a negative encounter with a security guard staff. This took place during a Mexican music event (regional Mexicano). The security guard used excessive force to remove me from the VIP area though we had paid $600 for bottle service. He grabbed me by the neck almost choking me and did not let go until I was outside the main entrance. Other staff witnessed it and did nothing to stop him. I've been to multiple concerts in other areas and have never experience such treatment in my entire life.
When I attempted to communicate with the security company, I spoke with Isidro but he never got back to me with a resolution. Later, Miguel called to let me know that it was my fault that the staff member physically assaulted me. Instead of apologizing and taking responsibility by training his staff in a professional way, Miguel defended the staff member and declared that he did nothing wrong. I will NEVER go back to this place and will make sure my friends stay away from...
