Anchor Ace Hardware — Attraction in Denville

I bought a Weber gas grill on line, the week prior to Memorial Day weekend and requested it be assembled and delivered at their convenience. Two days later, Josh arrived, introduced himself, shook my hand and proceeded to carry the grill up onto the deck, positioned it, explained all the working parts, how to safely clean it and connected my propane tank. I can’t express enough, the kindness and patience Josh showed in every aspect of our interaction. He is a stellar representative of the Ace Hardware Denville family and I will not only count on them as my go to hardware store, but will, without hesitation give the highest recommendations! As a follow up, I was back in the store a week later to exchange a propane tank and the continued top notch customer service continued with AJ, who handled the exchange of an old weathered tank without hesitation and with kindness and reassurance that the tank was perfectly acceptable to exchange. Horrible experience with this store, ordered some plotting soil online and when I picked it up it had a bunch of slashes from a possible box cutter when they were unloading it. Was a little skeptical taking it home since it most likely was sitting and got moisture or contaminated by pest but took a chance since the employee said it was "good" (worst mistake) did take pictures and video to send it to the customer service to see if I could get my money back took it home spilled all over my car ended up putting it in a tote to store for a week before I used it went to go use it and found mold all over it, had to chuck it, the response from the customer service was sorry for your inconvenience we can give you 5 dollars for your trouble, or you can take it back to the store for a return. This is the best store. I ordered a weed wacker that I wanted for same day delivery. Ace had the best price by the way. When it hadn't arrived by 6pm I called the store. They couldn't make it out that day and apologized profusely. They promised to have it to my door by 8am the next day (it's all I could have asked as I realized when I ordered it, the machine would have come too late that day to use; I ordered it same-day to be able to use first thing the next day). Not only was the machine at my door by 8am, they set it up for me! They called me to let me know it was at the door and that they set it up. This kind of service is so extremely rare these days. As much as possible, I'll shop at Ace Hardware in Denville even though it's a bit farther than Home Depot. The slightly longer distance to travel is well worth the excellent service...
