I've waited several months to cool off and post this.
At the deli's I go to I sometimes pick up too much in my hands so I place some on the counter or near the register. We always spend 100.00 plus when we stop in so I consider myself an ok customer.
I did not get a basket and didn't think I was getting much this trip but, as I passed the pasta, I decided to grab a bunch. As I walked around the plastic bags started slipping so I walked to the counter and placed the pasta on it, the cashier watched me place it and then told me if I'm not ready to make a purchase I have to remove everything she watched me put on the counter, and get a basket.
Both she and one young man stood there and stared at me with no offer of here's a basket, or leave it there this time -nothing. I looked around and I was the only person in the building. I picked all the bags up and brought them back to the shelves they came from and walked out just uttering unbelievable!
We usually go there every other week plus extra for all holidays. Our annual spend is considerable.
I've been in retail business since 1977, I've never received service so bad and so stupid.
I'd love to review their receipts, I'm sure business is NOT thriving.
...someone did a goog job and opened a fun small location with a good selection of prepared food but, management has placed fools at the most important customer interaction point, the checkout.
We've never gone back and never will unless someone can tell me the terrible girls at the register...
Read moreI hate to leave a negative review but I feel that I have to. I placed a catering order here for my 40th birthday recently. 4 large trays of food and an appetizer tray came to a total of about $750.00. They charged us extra for grated cheese for the pasta tray I believe without disclosing this anywhere on the receipt or at the time of taking our order. I believe they also charged us for tartar sauce and lemon slices for the $115.00 crab cake tray. I believe this was poorly done. If you are going to charge a customer for these extras you should disclose this to the customer. In addition the steak pizzaiola and sauteed veggie trays were so salty that they were almost inedidible. We ended up having to throw away most of these two trays because they were so salty you really couldn't eat them and no one wanted to. The crab cakes were dry. The rigatoni with vodka sauce they substituted penne instead which is fine as it is traditionally made with penne but that should have been disclosed too. Th only edible thing was the chicken dish, bread and calamari salad which was good. Everything else more than half was really not good at all. It was such a disappointment because I have had their cooked meals before and they were good but not this time I don't know what happened. Unfortunately I will not be ordering any more catering meals from this company. They are not cheap and all of the food should be good and...
Read moreI have been ordering from here for many years for all my parties. The Service and bread has always been delicious. I have always loved coming to this place and I’ve always recommended to many of my friends and clients However I called to place an order for rolls and I was told by the store manager in charge, they are no longer allowing customers on the retail side to place orders For the 5 to 6 inch Italian rolls. I needed 60 rolls for a party. Apparently this started and is a new policy put in place six months ago. I don’t understand this and I question this because they are an actual production bakery, and I was told that they only make a certain amount of these rolls and will not make anymore once sold out. . There will be no guarantee of availability. Once they are done they are done for the day. Does anyone else think this is crazy? They are a retail and wholesale bakery but I guess the retail aspect is really not important. I thought I would be doing a favor to place the order so that they knew ahead of time to allocate and plan, To accommodate not only their staff, but also other customers This is so disappointing and frustrating, especially when planning for a large group. I was actually told to get there when they first open to get the best chance of getting these rolls Anthony and sons, please go back to your prior way of doing business on the retail side!!! This is a horrible way to...
