Brenton Skating Plaza — Attraction in Des Moines

Worst customer service ever!!! It was our first time there. When my family and I got there it was about 5pm on a beautiful Sunday. Walking through the door no one greeted or acknowledged us. We waited patiently staring at the two young men who were cleaning skates. One of them finally and very rudely told us that they close at 6pm. I looked at the time on my phone and it was exactly 5:08pm. I turned to see if my husband still wanted to skate with our girls since I've already purchased skate rentals off of Groupon. After getting our skates I was pretty heated still by his rudeness, I turned to that young man and told him that I understood they close at 6pm but he didn't need to be rude about it. I will never be coming back. I don't care if you have plans after work right at the dot. I am a paying customer because of people like me is the reason he still...

As a downtown resident, I expected better. The skates were dull, rink hacked up, and the attitude of the staff was horrible.

Simple fixes - change the music (it's BLARINGLY loud via sub-par speakers. Whoever made the idiotic decision to play the same genre all the time (and poorly) needs to crawl out from under their rock and realize not everyone likes what you do.

soooo sad to know such small minds are destroying something with SUCH potential. I would LOVE to go back - maybe a monthly membership for some fun exercise.. why ruin it for customers to please the staff??
