What a great little theater! Staff and performers are always polite and smiling. They have a variety of different types performances and styles. The Shakespear in Prison performances are great. They give the audience independent insight to the lives of prisoners and types of things they experience both good and bad. Sometimes you even hear about their after story and re-entry into society. If you have a parollee that you care about but can't understand why they are so different when they come home, say after... 10 or 15 years. It gives you insight to all the terrors and trauma and violence they see and potentially were victims of and most times that they never even told anyone about. If you do decide to attend be prepared to hear sad or violent stories not just good ones. But the stories of past prisoners and how they struggled to get to the successful life they have now are amazing!

I was a guest volunteer for a recent event, I was so turned off by how I was ignored and treated like I didn't matter by the owners. I'm there to support them and they never took a second out of their evening to introduce themselves or thank me for being there and volunteering my time. Other than that the lobby area is very minimalistic and industrial. There is a bar inside to purchase over priced drinks and a few snacks. Food and drinks are allowed in the theater.

This was a marvelous play. I truly enjoyed the storyline. I had never been here before. I like the fact that you could bring in your container and fill it with water. I look forward to coming back and making this a regular place.

I went to a fabulous play last night at Detroit Public Theatre! Soft Target, directed by Jaki Bradley and written by Emily Kaczmarek. The theatre was very comfortable with a warm inviting lobby. People were very friendly and helpful. We had a delightful drink before the show.

The show was a tough topic on school gun shootings, and the soft targets of the affected people. It pulled on my heart strings, In parts it made me laugh, cry, and ponder questions in my head. The writing was very creative and funny. Loved characters and acting from Jonah/David Johnson III and Molly/Emma Kikue. The amazing little 12 year old girl Amanda/Cora Steiger...
