I wish there were more rules enforced to provide a safer experience. I’ve seen small dog owners getting frustrated that larger dogs are trying to play, when there is a whole side dedicated for the little ones. People picking up their small dog and getting frustrated that other dogs are jumping and trying to investigate. Aggression with uncut males in the park. Introductions on leash. Toy aggression and resource guarding with all the toys around. I’ve seen better run parks with less of these types of incidents happening because they had guidelines that are followed, and had a better understanding of K9 behavior and socialization. There's always parking, a section for smaller dogs, a big section for larger dogs and picnic tables for me to sit and eat at. :) It's fake grass which makes it easy to clean up after your pet and if they tinkle, you're not stepping into puddles. There's no way the pups can dig which eliminates mud baths like you have at other dog parks. I love the double entrance at the front so your dog can't run past you and escape without it's leash on. It look like people were enjoying themselves, watching their dogs run around. I can say that there are few places in the Wayne State area to have your dog run around like that. Finally, the reason I gave it four stars was the fact they took out all the grass and replace it with artificial turf. Definitely not cool in an environmentally conscious era.
