I waited a few weeks to do this review, both to recuperate and also to calm myself. Simply put, if you are handicapped, DO.NOT.GO.HERE. the "staff" couldn't give a rats ass about your mobility issues, and you are pretty much on your own. Additionally, some of their policy's are simply moronic. This is in regards to the AC/DC concert. The first concert EVER for our 13 year old grandson. When we arrived, we did find a ramp to let me get into the venue easily enough. Once inside, we walked to where I thought we needed to be to get to our floor seats, as directed by someone I had asked, as we had never been before. Once at an entrance, we are told we need to go to some area we had actually passed by to get a wristband. Why? We have tickets. Ok, walk back to this area, some woman wearing a supervisor coat who looks annoyed that I had to bother her checks my ticket and says no, you can just go ahead. Back to the other person, she won't let us pass. Mind you, I HAVE LIMITED MOBILITY. Back to the supervisor. She says "fine, go thru here someone will help you". Get thru the myriad of ropes to the person giving the bands out, and she needs to rescan our tickets in order to give us these bands. We'll, the wifi is non existent inside the venue, (we later heard pissed off staff claiming it had been shut off) and it took us over 10 minutes to get our stupid bands. I'm LIVID. We have tickets, not my problem your ushers are too lazy to check the tickets. I'm now very fatigued having to walk back and forth, stand in one place for an extended time due to the venues failures. Finally, we get our bands, but not before all the lights go down. My poor grandson is caught in the middle of this mess, as I yell to my husband we will NEVER be coming here again. I'm told by the person at the wristband station, "no worries honey, someone will help you to the floor". Hell no they won't. My husband had our drinks, and the lady at the entrance looked at us like we were idiots when we said we were told we'd get help down. So, my skinny 13 year old grandson had to carry my walker down 92 (NINETY TWO!) stairs while I carefully hobbled (assholes whizzing by me cuz they're in a hurry) to the floor. Finally got to our seats. After about 90 minutes, now I need to find a bathroom. I see an usher in front of us, so my husband helps me over to him. Finally, a decent human being. His name was Jacob and in our conversations over the rest of the evening, we find out he's kind of new still. He is also the reason I know it was 92 stairs. I can only hope he doesn't become miserable like every other unhelpful employee we had encountered. I figured I had to now walk back up part of the stairs to get to a restroom, but no!! He walks me back to behind the stage to a bathroom they use for handicapped people. YAY!! While walking, he's apologizing for what I've gone through so far that night. He tells me there is an ELEVATOR we should have used, and he will escort me there after the show to leave. WHY this wasn't offered to us to begin with I have no idea. We watch the rest of the show, and meet back up so he can get me to the elevator. It's actually up a giant ramp, very very hard for me to shuffle up, but my husband helped by pushing me as I walked. I could not WAIT to get out of that hell. Such a poorly staffed, outdated venue compared to literally every other venue I have been in the city. I will stick to Little Cesar's and Comerica Park where the staff is nice, friendly,...

Read moreI groove on down to Ford Field with Nick. We are going to see The Weeknd it will be sick. We go through security and the detectors don't beep. Damone gives us black wristbands they don't feel cheap. Nick gets a fruity alcoholic beverage and I get Coke zero. A hot Latina walks by and I say, "yo quiero" The Weeknds fans are dressed sharply and sexy. Everyone here is so beautiful and no one looks messy. We find our way to section 124, seats 9 and 10. We flop our asses on the seats and feel quite zen. Four beautiful women sit next to us on my left. I introduce myself to Cleo, she has black hair and zest. Nick gets up to go take a wizz and the music's playing loud. The ladies next to me take a selfie and are proud. A black woman with silver hoop earrings sits front of me. I introduce myself. She is from Charlotte and not messy. She's classy with style and has purpose in life. She went into sports and put behind all her strife. Her name is LaShonda but she goes by Shonnie. She came on a plane and smelled like Armani. The Weeknd comes out and the crowd begins to roar. He's wearing a pretty black sparkly garment I haven't seen before. He begins to sing and the lights are dancing blue, red and white. I feel the bass beat in my body and the lights are bright. His production value is the best I've seen in a while. The crowds energy rolls like thunder and flows like the Nile. Starboy comes on and I'm dancing from my soul. I feel connected to the music and I lose control. I'm grooving hard and Nick's recording me. I'm so blessed with what God's awarding me. My face started to go numb and the next song started to play. It was "Can't Feel My Face" and I began to pray. I asked God to bring more music like this my way. I pulled out my phone to capture some of this beauty. I was still singing, dancing and shaking my booty. The crowd is vibing so high and singing their hearts out. I'm waving my other arm to the music and it's groove. If you're looking for a great night out I'd say Ovidio approves. I put my phone away to enjoy the rest of this magical show. The Weeknd moved on the stage with empirical glow. Ford Field is a special place in Detroit's community. I love how the power of music can bring unity. Thank you to all the souls that coordinated this production. It brought love, joy, soul and meaning through...
