RACIST BAR! My friend had a Venezuelan ID. He was let in the bar with his Venezuelan employment authorization, later in the night after he was let in out of my group of 5 he was the only one ID’ed for having an accent. We all had stamps, all of us were allowed to order drinks inside the bar without having to reproduce our ID’s except for my friend who was ID’ed a second time inside the bar because the bar tender was “suspicious” upon being asked I gave the bar tender his ID (the ID he was let into the bar with) even though no one else was asked. His employment authorization was expired and can not be renewed by his government because he his here on asylum and he has no contact with his country of origin. My friend had a passport in the car (a passport he received from the Venezuelan embassy in Mexico) and was let in with his employment authorization (if they would’ve rejected this ID from the beginning we could’ve provided a passport), despite that he was kicked out and treated like a criminal. I understand that his ID was invalid but we could’ve provided current identification if we were allowed to provide it. He was mistreated because of his race and accent, and I am so sad to see that in my city and country. And despite his ID being a real ID that was expired by two months and allowed him to enter the bar it was kept by the bar staff. This ID despite being expired was his property and the only ID he had from his country and now he no longer has it. The bar tender charged me (the American) for the drinks she refused to serve my friend even though she hadn’t made them yet, and refused to give her name. These actions are unforgivable and give Detroit and all of this country a bad reputation. I intend on taking up this situation with my lawyers. Even though it was a minor inconvenience it is unforgivable to treat an individual differently because of where he or she is from and I hope that this establishment learns to be accepting and understanding with people from other places. Truly I am saddened to know this attitude still exists, and will do everything in my power to bring justice to my friend who was simply attempting to get to know the city and it’s citizens. If he was treated like any other white person in that bar there would’ve been...
Read moreTin roof has been my favorite place to go in Detroit for a long time now. I decided to go there for my birthday this past Tuesday, October 1st, and I had the worst experience I’ve ever have had with a bartender. Her name was bree if she didn’t lie to me, working on the first floor with mid length brown hair I believe. I asked her for a water for a stranger that was having a panic attack in the bathroom, and I waited till she was done doing something, and then she continued to ignore me and call me belittling names when I asked again. After being ignored for 5 minutes, and watching her go out of her way to take care of other customers, I got very frustrated considering it was a Tuesday and not very busy in there at all. I asked again for a water loudly and frustrated and told her it was urgent- and then I went to go check on the woman breaking down in the bathroom, instead of grabbing me a water, Bree decided to come into the bathroom with no water in hand, and step up to me in my face blocking the exit, yelling that if someone is about to throw up then they’re getting kicked out- and I understand that if that was the situation at hand, but somebody was having a panic attack and just needed to catch their breath, and the girls in there were just trying to be helpful to her. I have never had someone yell in my face like that after being so polite. Still no water, I went back out there to speak to the manager zack, but he was completely useless and had no professional bone in his body. I’m personally a bar manager myself, and I would never act this way to a customer. He kept walking away from me while I was trying to speak to him, and didn’t seem to care that his bartender had bursted in the bathroom and got in my face threatening to kick me out for no reason, and didn’t seem to care that she had been extremely rude to several people for no reason. My birthday was personally ruined after trying to talk to both staff members Bree and zack. I definitely do not recommend this place considering the staff catches attitudes quick. I’ve been there a hundred times but after this significant issue with several of the staff members- my friends and I will not be coming back. I hope they hire more personable people in the future....

Update! After two years of dodging Covid19 This nasty breath infested place infected me with Covid19. Now I cannot smell a damn thing. Got sick as hell the following three days after I dropped this review Friday June 17, 2022.
Now I've been in all kinds of clubs leading up to this one. But since coming here with all of these white people. Bam! I'm in a messed up place. White people are nasty. I've learned my lesson. I will avoid coming into contact with these people as much as humanly possible from here on out!!
Black people! Don't ever congregate around predominately white crowds!!! There's a reason why throughout history most non-white people who white people came around went extinct!
I don't care whose feelings my review hurts. It it what it is. I've been around black people and didn't have this problem. Now what I eat tastes like basic chemical components. And I can't even smell the dangers around me. Talking about Asian hate? No! It's you white people!!! Who're the problem!!!
June 17, 2022 Review
If you're a black man who understands WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON, and who didn't grow up in the suburbs around a bunch of white folks, nor went to predominantly white populated learning institutions. Then this spot isn't for you. Five bucks cover fee is exactly what you should pay. At least they had that correct. Don't be like me trying to do something out the box against my better judgement. The white women here aren't that hard on the eyes some of them. But their attitudes are mostly nine-one-one Karen. That is, if you make their "highnesses" "feel uncomfortable" implied the security. So, if you ever come to this place not heeding my warning. Only mingle with the very few chocolate skin women mainly, like I did. Also, this place has about four floors. Three accessible without a reservation. And all of them are packed with folks like canned tuna. This spot is 99.99 percent a white crowd. Be on guard. They play MMA matches on the HD screen TVs. And best believe I was prepared to fight... racists if needed be! Therefore, I won't ever be venturing to this place again. Even if I didn't get a Karen bluff. I still wasn't going to ever come back to this spot. The crowd is not racially diverse enough...
