As the final rays of the day's sun were swallowed by the sprawling skyline of Detroit, I found myself at the threshold of an urban legend - Mootz Pizza. This was no ordinary quest for dinner; it was the beginning of what would become a legendary tale in my culinary adventures.Greeted upon entry by none other than Cassidy, a server whose renown stretched across the city, I immediately understood that Mootz was no mere eatery. Cassidy was the keeper of the culinary cosmos, a bridge between the ordinary and the extraordinary, where pizza transcended mere food to become a masterpiece of flavor and craftsmanship. The atmosphere of Mootz Pizza enveloped me, a warm embrace amidst the industrial heartbeat of Detroit. It was here, in this crucible of innovation and tradition, that Cassidy guided me through an odyssey of tastes, each pizza slice a chapter in an epic saga of culinary brilliance.Cassidy, wielding her menu like a map to buried treasure, charted a course through seas of mozzarella, across islands of tangy tomato, over mountains of artisanal toppings, each more enticing than the last. Her expertise and passion were the lighthouses guiding me through the vast, delicious unknown. With each bite, the boundaries of my palate were expanded, and I was transported further into the realm of flavors that Mootz Pizza and Cassidy, its esteemed ambassador, had masterfully created. This was not just dining; it was a journey, a narrative woven with the finest ingredients and the magic of Detroit’s indomitable spirit. As I departed, the cityscape now a canvas of night, I realized Mootz Pizza, under Cassidy's stewardship, had etched a permanent place in my heart. Not just for its unparalleled pizza, but for the story it told - a story of passion, of tradition, and of a city that, like its pizza, was rich with layers waiting to be discovered.Mootz Pizza isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a landmark in the epic tale of Detroit, with Cassidy as one of its most memorable characters. My odyssey had concluded, but the legend of Mootz Pizza, like the city it calls home, would...

I will start off by saying that I have been to Mootz twice before this most recent experience along with their other business, the Side Hustle Lounge, & I’ve had good experiences both times.

However yesterday I decided to place a take out order for one of their pizzas(The Holy Cheesus). Once I got home I realized that the pizza I ordered wasn’t the pizza I had. I went back to their site to see where the mistake happened & on their website they have the picture & description of the pizza I wanted to order under a different name. I do admit that if I wasn’t moving fast I could’ve caught the error before placing my order.

So I called back up there to let them know that I got the wrong pizza. While I was on hold the phone was unpaused(on accident I presume) & I heard someone say “why would you order it if it doesn’t say the right name” & then I was back on hold for a few minutes. The manager eventually picked up the phone & she got on the phone irritated, telling me that the Grandma pizza(the wrong pizza I received) clearly had the correct picture of the pizza & if I wanted a remake I would need to pay for it. This was all before I even said anything & explained the situation.

Once I explained everything & she checked for herself she apologized, told me they’ll remake it, & also told me to not discard the wrong pizza & to try it because it’s really good(small talk). Now I do appreciate them fixing the mistake, but I don’t appreciate the side comment & the immediate attitude before hearing me out(the customer), it was unprofessional. Gather the whole situation first, check out the facts/details, & then proceed with discussion. I made a mistake by moving too fast before reading the name of the pizza, but I’m human & there’s an error on the site that might’ve been made more times than this if it had not been brought to...

It was a team outing, and from the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for something special. They had a whole table reserved just for us, a long one that perfectly accommodated our group. Talk about feeling like VIPs!

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the pizza. Oh my goodness, I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was! Seriously, some of the best pizza I've ever had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into. The flavors were out of this world, and the crust? Perfection. I could go on and on about it, but trust me, you have to taste it for yourself. It's a game-changer!

But the greatness doesn't stop at the pizza. The drinks at Mootz are also something to rave about. They have a fantastic selection that caters to all tastes. Whether you're in the mood for a classic cocktail or want to try something new and exciting, they've got you covered. The bartenders really know their stuff and whip up some seriously delicious concoctions. Cheers to tha

The staff, They are absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel like royalty. They were attentive, supportive, and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. They had excellent recommendations and knew exactly what would tickle our taste buds. Their knowledge and passion for their craft really shone through, and it made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

All in all, my visit to Mootz Pizzeria + Bar was an absolute delight. The amazing pizza, great drinks, and the wonderful staff all came together to create a truly memorable experience. If you're a pizza lover like me, this place is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's a taste sensation that will have you coming back for more. Five stars...

First time here, was very excited! We arrived around 8pm got sat by 8:15 wasn’t a problem got greeted by our server, a women with locs. (Didn’t catch her name) her section was near the bathroom area. she took our drink order and food order, by 8:20 told her everything can come out all at once ( appetizer & the 2 pizzas) it was busy at first but most tables left by 8:30ish meaning it wasn’t that busy & neither was her section. Got our appetizer at 8:45 and our pizzas at 9:15. Mind you someone else not our server dropped our appetizer/pizza off which wasn’t a problem either (food runners ) she finally came to our table again at 9:22 after almost an hour and 20 mins (never bothered to ask if we needed anything else) we asked for a refill on the waters and of course it wouldn’t take less than a min to fill the small cup that was used right? Wrong took her about 20 mins to finally come back and fill the water cup and by that point it was already 10:05.pm Told her forget about the water and to just bring me the check. I thought she was having a bad day so I let it slide.. until another table sat beside us at 8:40 got their drinks, appetizers, and 2 pizzas all within a spam of 20-25 mins while we waited over an hour & 10 mins for 2 small pizzas. Durning the check out process, I wanted to do a cash tip instead of on card left the tip and was heading out the door and saw how fast she was to go and pick up the tip and the receipt but not fast enough to come and ask how we were doing the whole time. We tried getting her attention but she was never looking our way. The food was good but the service was terrible. Please talk to your servers about keeping an eye on all tables and always checking up on them.
